The building and location was wonderful, however, the cottage needs a lot of updating and cleaning throughout. Wallpaper coming off the ceiling, cobwebs, spiders and moths in plenty. The twin room had fleas coming from behind the old pictures on the wall and from the fireplace. My mum was up late into the night killing them and felt unable to sleep. Had to wash everything before using as felt very sticky. Photos from the website look lovely so guessing these were taken some time ago. With a bit of attention the cottage could be an amazing place to stay. The owners were lovely and am sure they will be upset with this review but we couldn't return whilst the cottage is as it is. Our dog loved the garden and local walks, it was perfect for the surrounding area.

Absolute home from home. Fresh flowers from the garden to welcome us. It was just perfect for us. The views from the bed over to fields with cows was amazing. Great welcome. A little gem

A really lovely cottage and in a very peaceful location. The owners are very friendly and aminable. A couple of pointers, the sofa and chairs could do with some cushions, the fridge door did not close properly and a couple of small milk pans would have been useful. The aga was briliant and heated the kitchen really well, especially when the weather is not so good.

Lovely characterful property in an unexpected location quite near Hexham town centre - we like it a lot (this was our second visit). Low West has a marvellous feel about the place as it has been kept original in many ways. The owners are nearby neighbours of the cottage and are very nice indeed. Having an Aga for a week was a real treat so we cooked with it the whole time. Thumbs up from us.

The building is a typical farm house/farm workers cottage. Upon initial internal inspection the property does need a thorough redecoration/update. However, for people that are aware of what a typical farm property is like then they would have no issues. The room sizes were good and the Aga dished out plenty of warmth in the kitchen. To improve on the overall warmth I would suggest the original door be reinstated between the house and the rear extension. The only grumble would be the hot tap in the bathroom which did not work properly and needs to be sorted out. The property owners were very nice and welcoming.

Cottage in need of a dam good cleaning and refurbishment. Shabby and is crying out for some TLC. Fridge wont close and toilet seat broken, both mentioned in other web sites but obviously haven't been fixed. On a plus the owner was very friendly.

Nice cottage ... not 'luxury', but very comfortable ... and excellent central location as base for the many wonderful sites in the region.

Absolutely idyllic cottage, we loved everything about it. The owners (and their dogs) are so welcoming I wish we could have stayed longer.
