A pretty fell-side village, Kirkby Thore is set in the northern region of the Eden Valley, Mirfield is a charming 3-bedroom semi-detached cottage filled with character and charm, with a garden and views to match.
Downstairs, the living room has a charming cosy feel with a wood burner while the sunroom has excellent views onto the garden and neighbouring fells, the heart of this home is the kitchen, with all mod cons you would need. Upstairs the master bedroom has a king size bed, while the second bedroom is a double and the third has bunkbeds, all windows making the most of the stunning local views.
The local area has so much to offer. Dufton has great walks up to the famous High Cup Nick and a great pub to finish off in. Langwathby with its own train station, where you can journey along the Carlisle to Settle route, stopping off at historic Carlisle, enjoying some retail therapy, or just stay aboard for the beautiful views. For busy days of exploration, be sure to visit Lacy’s Caves, a series of five chambers carved out of the sandstone cliff, set along a beautiful walking route with views of the river and wonderful garden to admire. Not too far you can find Long Meg and her daughters, one of the finest stone circles in the north of England. Or adventure into the Northern Lake District where you can enjoy the villages and town with local pubs, cafés, shops and restaurants or a more energetic walk up one of the many famous fells or even a gently steamer cruise on Ullswater.
It’s all waiting for you at Mirfield.

A truly charming cottage with all the ameneties and everything you could need/want. We stayed 4 days with our 4 year old daughter and dog and had plenty to do in the local area as well as slightly further afield. I highly recommend Aira Force Waterfall!

We loved our holiday to Mirfield; the location is perfect for exploring the Lake District, the house is super comfortable and communication with Gordon was quick and easy. As an extended family we really appreciated how well appointed the house is - lots of space, lovely garden, clean and comfy, and parking for two cars outside - perfect! We would love to visit again and have already recommended Mirfield to friends, but asked them to check with us first in case we want to take first dibs on staying! 😂
