    We spent a weekend at the cottage and simply didn’t want to leave. The location is easy to find the cottage itself is beautiful and very well maintained. All the rooms we found to be very clean the kitchen is very well stocked. Its simply a home from home environment. We used the on site bistro a couple of times which again we found to be very welcoming (the food was great) it’s worth a visit. We had with us our dog and he can sometimes get a little anxious about being somewhere new but he was totally relaxed (you would never know they allow dogs in the property it’s that clean). We wouldn’t hesitate to visit again and plan too in the new year....

    Moorhens Cottage is set on the beautiful Lower Mill Estate which is a lovely family and dog friendly holiday location. The kids loved the outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and table tennis and we all enjoyed canoeing on the Somerford Lagoon, fishing on Mill Lake and the lovely walks around the estate and its lakes. Moorhens Cottage is a cosy cottage with everything you really need for a self catering holiday. It was very nice to have little extras such as dishwasher tablets and extra toilet rolls provided and thank you for the welcome bottle of fizz, chocolates and doggie treats!! This is not a complaint as everyone has different preferences but the mattress in the larger double was very hard and not comfortable at all which made my back ache and have disrupted sleep. I would still recommend staying and would return as it was a lovely area with great facilities for all the family.
