We had a fantastic holiday in a fantastic location. No local amenities were close by, but they were all accessible. Nothing was on the doorstep and that was what we were looking for. Anything we needing we located on our trips out without making any special journeys. For a remote location we were out every day but did a surprisingly small mileage during the week. The weather was fantastic, which was a bonus, and that made our holiday.

Lovely setting, we loved the ducks! Everything we needed.

We loved our holiday at the cottage but won’t be for everyone as it’s very rural. Loved the peacefulness of the location, hearing and seeing the wildlife on the doorstep, the cottage had everything you would need, the children loved the rowing boat and table tennis table. You are not far from towns and villages and an ideal location to visit places Of interest. We had our shopping delivered when we first arrived so then didn’t have to go out and shop. Would recommend this spacious cottage and look forward to coming back in the future.

We loved this cottage so much that we returned for another stay! North Huckham is situated in a tranquil and beautiful area within its own grounds. The cottage itself is charming and has a lot of character. The kitchen is very well equipped, so we were able to self-cater with ease. The rooms are spacious and furnished tastefully, and the owner has thoughtfully provided a library of books for visitors to read if the weather is unkind. Although the cottage is situated in a very quiet area, it is easy to reach shops and restaurants as well as Exmoor and the coast. A fantastic holiday!!!

Beautiful location. Very remote and tranquil. Easy access to Exmoor and the coastline. My grandchildren (all under 4) stayed for the weekend and loved playing and exploring the grounds. We took 2 cats with us and they were quite at home and settled there. The cottage itself had most things. Although you can sleep 7 the lounge only has 2 settees which fits 4 comfortably. There are a few small maintenance issues that require attention which has caused my rating to drop.

We had a wonderful break in a lovely well set up cottage which is situated well off the road down in a scenic valley and very central for walking on Exmoor and the Brendon Hills. We have marked down the amenities to 7 but only to inform people that the cottage is well away from it all (which we think is a good thing). However there is a pub at Exton and another nice one ten minutes away at Wheddon Cross which serves good food and there is also a garage there and a reasonably well stocked shop. If you come prepared the kitchen is easy to prepare food in and will sit a group of eight in one sitting. the cottage has a lovely garden and pond with everything you need to sit outdoors or have a barbecue, it also comes with fully stocked bookshelves and various indoor and outdoor games to amuse yourself with.

Fantastic mini break and all the family loved it. We would definitely go again.

This was a delightfull cottage which was very well equiped for a comfortable stay. The children (11year olds) had an amazing time playing in the boat even reverted to ( lets pretend..playing) sitting outside with a glass of wine watching them was so relaxing.......beautifull views through the trees. We spent our whole stay at the cottage, the fireplace in the livingroom was so very cosy and the kitchen was lovely for our family meals and games. worth every penny to us.
