Take a walk down to the harbour with its many charming 17th and 18th century pantiled houses that crowd the harbourside. St Monans lies directly on the Fife Coastal Path, so is very popular with walkers. The remains of Newark Castle, with its circular beehive dovecot are further along the coastal path to the west of the village. You can walk to the popular arts and crafts village of Pittenween where the annual art festival is held, within a twenty minute stroll.
