Welcome to your semi-rural retreat nestled in the village of Kirby-le-Soken with views over open farmland to the rear. This beautifully restored cottage offers a charming base for exploring the Essex coast and countryside. Step inside to discover a warm and inviting interior that blends character with modern touches. The spacious living and dining area is ideal for relaxing after a day of adventure, complete with a cosy sofa, Smart TV and dining table. The rear door opens on to the enclosed garden with outdoor seating area, ideal to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
Upstairs you will find two comfortable bedrooms. The master bedroom is accessed from the hallway with a double bed and versatile wardrobe arrangement. The second bedroom is accessed from the hallway with children’s pine bunk beds, (manufacturers weight limit 9 stone each). The rooms are also interconnected making the layout especially convenient for families with young children. The shower room with step-in shower and generous additional storage completes the upstairs. Outside, there’s private off-street parking with additional on-street parking nearby.
Kirby-le-Soken is a traditional English village, known for its friendly atmosphere, traditional pubs, post-office store and St. Michael’s Church all set in scenic surroundings. There are well maintained footpaths from the village leading to the sea wall and glorious views across the backwaters with the majestic cranes of Felixstowe in the distance. Just a short drive away are the charming seaside towns of Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze. Frinton-on-Sea offers a nostalgic escape with its independent shops and restaurants, golf, cricket and tennis clubs and beautiful sandy beaches; from there, you can stroll along the sea wall to Walton-on the Naze. Home to classic seaside amusements, seafront play parks, swimming pool with fitness centre, dine-in cafes and take-aways, traditional pubs and miles of sandy shoreline. On The Naze, nature lovers can enjoy a visit to the historic Naze Tower, strolling on the cliff top and searching for fossils on the beach below. Nearby Hamford Water National Nature Reserve, a haven for walkers and birdwatchers alike. A trip on the backwaters to the creeks which are home to colonies of both grey and common seals never cease to thrill visitors.
In the opposite direction you can stroll from Frinton-on-Sea to the Holland Haven Nature Reserve. A trip to Colchester, the oldest recorded town in Britain (now a city), is just a short drive away. Explore the historic Colchester Castle and Roman walls. Visit the Arts Centre, a variety of museums or just enjoy great shopping or relaxing in the town’s many restaurants, bars, and spa facilities. The Mercury Theatre offers a lively programme of shows for all ages, and Colchester Zoo is a must-visit with over 150 species set across 60 acres of beautiful parkland. For garden enthusiasts, a visit to Beth Chatto’s Gardens is highly recommended—an inspiring space with a delightful tearoom and well-stocked plant shop. Nearer to home is Parker’s Garden Company encompassing the nursery, gift shop, food hall and the Applegarth tea rooms and restaurant. Both Frinton on Sea and Walton on the Naze have mainline station connections to Clacton on Sea, Colchester and London.
