When we arrived it was not what we were expecting for the amount of money in it cost to stay. The outside was dirty, the lid on the hot tub was ripped badly, some of the mesh fencing was broken. When we went inside the living room, you could see damp on the walls and behind the main radiator in the living area was particularly bad and the radiators in the bathrooms bearly worked. The bedrooms however were lovely and the beds comfortable along with the sofa. To top our stay off the oven stopped working which ruined the weekend as we had family coming on the Saturday. The cleaner was brilliant as she was a jack of all trades and was able to at least find us some where to cook on the other side of the park, which meant some of us had to leave the party for a couple of hours. We were told if we booked again directly the owner we would get our stay half price next time we booked due to inconvenience and our experience, which I did and he has still not responded. Extremely disappointed.

Leafy Run provided a good base for exploring the area. The lodge was generally in excellent order and spacious enough for our group of 4 adults and two children. We only had two issues: the smaller shower never worked and was cold throughout our visit; we also thought a larger fridge would have been really useful especially as the lodge was for eight and local amenities were limited therefore a big shop was necessary especially in February.

We stayed here whilst attending a wedding at Le Petit Chateau. It was the perfect location, as it was close to the venue, but allowed us a peaceful escape from the wedding hubbub before and after the big day. The cottage was extremely well equipped, and I would highly recommend a stay here.

Leafy run was a great sized property, it’s location was ideal for visiting all of Northumberland as it was so central. It was very dark in the area so we managed to see some amazing night skies too. The site itself was very quiet, with some great walks around the lake and rope swing was good fun. However, the issues we had within the lodge were not resolved during our week there, and also the whole lodge needs refreshing as it’s showing it’s age. After a 7 hours journey it would have been good to be able to have a nice hot shower, problem 1. The shower in the main bathroom flooded within seconds of running so couldn’t be used, the shower in the second bathroom wasn’t working at all. There was a bath, but as the water was running it was escaping nearly as quickly out of the ill-filling plug, so all you could do was paddle in an inch of water. We did notify the owner who sent the cleaner in the next day to plunge the shower. This worked for the main shower for 2 days, until the flooding commenced again. My husband had to re-plunge it. The second shower stayed out of use the entire week, not handy when the lodge sleeps 8 ! The sofas in the living room have seen better days, the seats were saggy and very uncomfortable. In the beautiful kitchen, not all of the pans worked on the induction hob and the handles were very loose. We didn’t book the lodge for the hot tub but used it every day and it worked really well, very well insulated and kept its heat up. Northumberland is a beautiful place to explore and there are a few really nice dog friendly pubs serving great food in the area. Issues with the lodge aside, we did have a good time.

Highly recommend. This is an amazing place. Well stocked with a travel cot and highchair for our little one. Well stocked kitchen. Very clean and tidy. We took our own food and drink so we didn't need to use any stores, so not sure on what's available around. Beautiful grounds and views.

What a lovely holiday letting! Had an amazing week here and loved every second. Only downside was one of the showers flooded very quick, maybe the plug needs looking at. Plenty of space, brilliant kitchen equipment (bought my own with me as wasn’t aware and didn’t need anything!) hot tub was brilliant and was cleaned every day. Definitely more for 6 people than 8. Will definitely rebook. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

A lovely lodge & beautiful area! A little issue getting in because the key safes are very temperamental, luckily cleaner was still on site! Not alot around & Coach house weren’t very helpful!! The pans aren’t suitable for the hob type either & tin opener was broken. Internet was temperamental too especially after the two power cuts there was!. Wasn’t as clean as we’d have liked but acceptable. The blinds weren’t great either being horizontal! Vertical blinds would be much more suitable & functional!

I stayed with 7 friends for 3 nights and overall we had no complaints about the property. The location, facilities and cleanliness were all very good and the decking area is a really good size. A couple of suggestions I would have though: There are only 6 patios chairs and 6 dining room chairs when the lodge sleeps 8 people. When we arrived there was no name or number on the lodge itself. I knew we were in the right place but only from the photos I'd seen on the website and the fact that the key safe code worked! It would be nice to have some sort of signage to confirm. Other places we've stayed have had information about the property itself inside - where to put recycling, if we need to do anything specific with the hot tub etc. There was nothing like this although the box of Thornton's chocolates on the dining table was a nice touch :-) None of these things would put us off staying again of course but we'd take some insect repellent and citronella candles next time!

I would recommend the property but although it sleeps eight there are only 6 chairs at the dining tables indoors and out. So it’s not really ideal for eight adults. We found the indoor spaces clean (although one of the group found a cigarette lighter in the sofa - luckily before the toddler in the group did). It would have been good if some Cleaning supplies had been available- there was a notice about only using appropriate ones as the property is on a septic tank. Outside looked as though it was needing a freshen up. The hob could be a bit temperamental and we wondered if the pots and pans were the most suitable for it. There was plenty crockery and cutlery. There were even two cafetières. I’d asked and been told there were none. Towels are provided although I was glad we’d taken some ourselves for when we were using the hot tub. We had room to park 3 cars immediately beside the lodge - two of them were small though. There was plenty of additional parking close by.

Lovely spacious lodge, had everything we needed and all really clean, especially being a pet friendly lodge. Surrounding park was lovely, nice walk through Woodlands and around the lake. Great for the kids to explore. Very little close by, full supermarket over half an hours drive away so stock up a bit before you go. Although small shop close by for essentials. Pub 5 mins away, Inn and creperie, was lovely, great food and lovely staff. Overall nice relaxing few days away.
