There is a pond in the grounds. \n Nestled in the small village of Wooldale high in the Holme Valley Pear Tree House Annexe adjoins the owner’s home and is just minutes away from the bustling centre of Holmfirth with its range of boutique shops restaurants and wine bars. Full of character with mullioned windows and an open fire for cooler evenings the accommodation overlooks the beautifully manicured gardens which offer a range of sitting out areas to catch the sun well into the evening.\nHolmfirth is best known as the backdrop to the iconic British sit-com ’Last of the Summer Wine’ but uniquely is also home to its very own vineyard which offers tours wine tasting and a restaurant. There’s also the ‘Picturedrome’ which is a superb intimate live music venue that attracts many famous bands and visitors from far and wide.\nIn the heart of the beautiful Holme Valley on the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines there are endless opportunities for walking and cycling. The scenery is breathtaking and the hills are recognisable from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire. The sensational 573 yards Holme Moss climb is around 15 minutes’ drive and offers stunning views from the summit. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park Wentworth Castle and the contemporary Hepworth Gallery are all around 30 minutes’ drive and the Peak District National Park with all it has to offer is also easily accessible in around 20 minutes.     We had a lovely weekend spent at pear tree. What a lovely home and garden Clair and Alan have. Nothing was a problem not that there was one lol, we would happily spend another time here and its well worth it. Holmfirth is just a drive away with all that has to offer. There is a local co-op just a short walk away and a local pub even closer. Well recommended.

    Last minute booking but couldn't have been better. The annexe had a lovely feel and being the top floor of the property, a great view. Having a dedicated parking space was invaluable. Claire and her husband couldn't have been nicer, have no reservations in recommending.

    Our holiday got of to a bad start from the beginning. We could not find the parking space so we parked a few hundred yards up the road. We proceeded on foot to find the property, but unlike the photo on the website the front of the house was the back of the house which made it more difficult to find. It would help if the name of the property was on the gate. We carried the luggage a few hundred yards and met the owners immediately on arrival, she spent a few mins with us showing us around the flat, but did not help us with our luggage up the steep steps. The parking spaces where occupied by other members of the family who never introduced themselves to us. On our first full day of our holiday we visited the local area for a couple of hours, but left the dog in the flat, which we would normally do at home. On our arrival back we where confronted by the owner who informed us that the dog is not allowed to be left alone in the flat as he was heard scratching the floor boards and could have been jumping on the furniture. We did read the folder later that day which confirmed (Your dog is not allowed on the furniture, and not allowed to be left alone in the flat.) When we booked the flat we where not informed of these rules and regulations, if we had known we would not have booked this flat. We paid more money for the dog, plus extra money for insurance for this supposedly dog friendly place. We cannot take the dog to the pub/cafe etc because he would bark all the time. Our holiday from then on was severely restricted. The flat is not suitable for the older generation because of the steep stairs to the flat and the internal stairs in the flat. (although we where aware of the steps outside). We never met the owners again. They never presented themselves on our leaving day/hour so we put the key in their letter box. Any future visitors should pack or purchase on arrival Tea,Coffee,condiments,toilet rolls etc. We still don't know where the paddock is for the dog, the vineyard or the restaurant.

    A lovely clean apartment with everything we needed plus all the little extra touches very comfy bed open log fire every night which was cosy on cold evenings hosts very accommodating. Cottage in lovely area close to places to visit and lots of scenic walks would definitely recommend it

    Gorgeous annexe with stunning views. We stayed during a cold snap but the annexe was lovely and warm. Well located with a local pub and shop just yards away. Hosts were friendly and helpful, and provided a really useful information pack with maps and local walks. Would highly recommend the accommodation to anyone wishing to visit Holmfirth...be warned though, you may just end up wanting to relocate!

    Had a wonderful stay at Pear Tree House Annexe. The accomodation was so cosy and comfortable and had lots of character. It had everything we needed regarding equipment and was spotlessly clean. The owner could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed a lovely walk in the surrounding countryside. Holmfirth is about a mile walk away, the nearest pub & shop in Wooldale just a few yards. I would definitely return here again, in fact we are thinking of making this an annual event. I would have no hesitation recommending to anyone.

    Beautiful place so very clean good quality bedding and towels. Well equipped kitchen. Delightful views of the garden from every room. Access good loved our stay there. Will be going back next year. Owners very nice and most helpful.

    Perfect apartment with everything you need for a relaxing break in Holmfirth. Lots of features, wooden floors and a log fire. We absolutely loved it.... as did our pooch! The garden and views are beautiful. Great pub a few doors away, doesn’t serve food but we ordered Indian from Bengal Spice which was delicious! And they knew the address (excellent recommendation from the owner Claire). There is also a coop a short walk away which has everything you need. It’s just over a mile into the centre.... be aware all uphill on the way back! It’s easy to find if you read the instructions! (We didn’t!) All cleaning products are there, as are towels / linen. Don’t forget your toiletries and kitchen roll though! Thank you Claire - fabulous property!!! We’ll be back! X
