It is the ideal location for a fun-filled family holiday. Situated on the epic Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the footpath starts only a few yards away within the hamlet of Amroth, where you can explore the 186-mile coastal path covering some of the most breathtaking and rugged scenery in West Wales. For the more energetic, Amroth beach is perfect for an early morning run or stroll, after picking up the morning newspaper and enjoying a freshly brewed coffee in the local café. A few minutes east leads to the seaside village of Pendine, or Pentywyn in Welsh meaning the ‘end of the dunes’. Nestled high overlooking 7 miles of glorious beach, it was made famous by Malcolm Campbell setting the world land speed record on Pendine Sands.
In just a 20-minute drive and you can visit Laugharne which is famous for being the birthplace of the late Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. The town features his iconic boathouse and the historic Laugharne Castle lying peacefully on the edge of the glistening River Taf. Travelling west, do not miss the walled harbour town of Tenby to explore the cobbled streets and fantastic plethora of restaurants specialising in local organic produce, with line caught sea fish being top of the special’s board. Beach 10 yards. Shop 5 yards, pub 500 yards and restaurant 10 yards.
