Come and discover Preseli Hills Cottages within the foothills of the stunning and quiet Preseli Mountains, a range of hills in north Pembrokeshire, mostly within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The Mill is one of three traditional Welsh stone cottages - The Mill (UK38915) The Milking Parlour (UK38916) and The Byre (UK38917). Over 200m down a private stone drive, off a quiet road the cottages have been finished to a very high standard and ooze luxury and style whilst retaining character from what was once the original farm buildings. Part of a beautifully renovated stone barn, Mill Cottage offers up to date services and appliances in a traditional environment. The Mill is recognised by ‘The Independent’ newspaper as one of the UK’s Top 10 rural cottage destinations.
Each cottage boasts a private wood-fired hot tub, private garden and lots of parking. There are places to wander, sit and enjoy the countryside. The farm has a small lake which you are welcome to walk around or sit and enjoy the wildlife. Nestled on a secluded non-working farm, with glorious rolling countryside, the property is centrally located for visiting all of Pembrokeshire’s wonderful attractions, including 186 miles of magnificent coastline and various quaint villages and towns. Guests also have access to a large communal garden, providing additional log seating, a campfire area, and a running stream all of which add to the calm and tranquillity of the natural setting. Light a fire and stargaze or enjoy a stroll around the grounds. The owners’ good-natured rare breed belted Galloway cows graze in the paddock adding to the rural experience.
The Mill really does offer the perfect romantic retreat for couples to escape to, boasting your very own wood-fired hot tub where you can enjoy a glass of something lovely and stargaze. The cosy open-plan living space has underfloor heating and a wood burner perfect for a cosy night in with a good movie. The mezzanine master suite is on the first floor and leads into a beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. The garden is an ideal place to escape and relax and enjoy the rural views, sit on the patio and soak up the tranquil setting.
The Preseli Hills are a short walk away and you are 1.8 miles from the village of Maenclochog with a great village shop, petrol station, café, and pub. Centrally placed in Pembrokeshire with a 25-minute drive to the north coast you are in a wonderfully rural, quiet setting but near enough to the bustle of the coast for an early morning swim. A great day out can be had in beautiful Newport on the north coast and the famous walled town of Tenby on the south coast, with its cobbled streets, award-winning beach, and a truly magnificent picture postcard harbour.
It is also a great base for visiting the many attractions Pembrokeshire has to offer, including Wild Lakes Wake Park and Llys Y Fran reservoir, complete with cycle tracks and archery, both of which are within 20 minutes drive. Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo and Heatherton World of Adventures are also all within a 30-minute drive.
The Mill can be booked together with The Byre (UK38917) and The Milking Parlour (UK38916) to accommodate up to 10 guests.
