Original features have been retained such as the beautiful stone-mullioned windows wooden beams and the twisting stone staircase. Meanwhile the cottage provides welcoming holiday accommodation all year round for two couples or a family of four.\nThis 17th-century cottage is perfectly located in the picture-postcard village of Kettlewell within the lovely Yorkshire Dales National Park. Surrounded by a stunning backdrop of hills the walking is superb straight from the door with strenuous walks up the hills or gentle strolls along the River Wharfe. The small garden has a terrace with garden furniture and beautiful views over the Wharfedale hills and stone walls. The nearby river is an ideal place for picnics in summer. Grassington is a short drive away with its winter Dickensian Festival as well as the 15-day summer Grassington Festival. The market town of Skipton voted as one of the top 10 places to live Sunday Times 2016 is approximately 16 miles away. With three pubs in Kettlewell village all offering food from bar snacks to restaurant-quality food as well as cafés and a thriving well-stocked village shop you are spoilt for choice.     An excellent cottage, attractively furnished and comfortable for 4 people. Virtually everything one could need for a stay was supplied, including some welcome "extras", a bottle of wine, jam, etc. The one difficulty with the cottage is the staircase, a steep spiral, but we were warned appropriately in advance, and it was not hard to negotiate with a little care. This is a centuries old house! But beautifully refurbished. Kettlewell is a good centre for visiting and walking in the Dales. The village shop is a bit basic, but ok for essentials, and the Threshfield supermarket with a good butcher is not far away. Altogether I'd be happy to stay there again.

    The cottage was lovely and spotlessly clean. However, the problem was getting in and out of it! None of the keys worked properly. When we went into the office in Grassington, they said they knew about the problem and offered us another set of keys, which were just as ineffective. We did wonder, if they knew about the problem, why they hadn’t done anything about it!

    This was our 3rd visit to Prospect Cottage and it was as brilliant as the previous years! A true home from home with wonderful countryside (and pubs!) on your doorstep. Couldn’t wish for more.

    We loved Prospect Cottage. It was so cosy, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We are looking forward to our return over Christmas 2019! One small thing: the grill may not be fully functioning (or it could be that we didn’t work the controls correctly).

    A really great holiday cottage situated in a lovely Yorkshire village. Prospect Cottage has been beautifully renovated and the addition of quality interior furnishings make it a truly lovely place to spend your holiday. The owner’s attention to detail is second to none and weather permitting you can sit in the garden and soak up the peace surrounding you. There are loads of information leaflets and details of a variety of walks provided so you’re never short of something to do. The village has great amenities and the surrounding Dales offer wonderful scenery, lovely villages, great places to eat and very friendly people. Would highly recommend a holiday at a Prospect Cottage.

    Excellent cottage with lots of nice touches. However we thought that the double bed needed,a new, or better, mattress. Also in the ensuite shower it really needs a wire storage tray for soap, shampoos etc, We didn’t think the arrival directions were particularly clear, which resulted in a couple of trips around the village - they could say “turn left over the bridge then first right next to the Blue Bell”.
