River View is set over two floors and is very well equipped and as its name suggests, has views over the River Nith. If you want to take advantage of the many activities in and round the town without moving your car, the park is open all year round with a large enclosed play park as well as mini golf, trampolines, a seasonal café and beautiful walks along the side of the river. Only a short walk into the centre of the town of Dumfries, you will find many high street stores as well as museums, arts centres and Robert Burns House, where the famous Scottish poet, Rabbie Burns, spent the last few years of his life.
Further afield in this beautiful corner of Dumfries and Galloway, there are attractions in abundance from beautiful sandy beaches to dramatic cliff tops along the majestic Solway Coast. A visit to Caerlaverock Wetland Centre, a spectacular 1400-acre wild reserve is a must! With sailing, swimming, horse riding, fishing, golf, boat trips and water sports close by, there is something for everyone. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, there are many beautiful gardens to visit including Threave Gardens (National Trust).
