It is set in a street of mostly medieval and Georgian houses each with their own architectural charm and has a private riverside terrace which overlooks the 16th-century church and bell tower where Lord Horatio Nelson’s parents were wed. A house for all seasons you can sit round the roaring log fire in winter or enjoy the west-facing private terrace and gardens in summer watching magnificent sunsets over the fields. Fishermen will delight in fishing from the holiday property’s large pretty riverside garden and patio – a rowing dinghy and two buoyancy lifejackets are even provided for river trips or picnics. Walk to the centre of the charming market square to enjoy a drink at one of the many local inns and traditional country pubs or savour a leisurely meal at one of the restaurants. A range of independent delicatessens sell epicurean speciality local produce and there is even a Victorian sporting shop. Explore all the attractions that Norfolk and Suffolk have to offer including Southwold 15 miles with its seafront pier and summer theatre or Dunwich Heath and beach. There is also RSPB Minsmere to visit Aldeburgh with its fishing boats and local seafood and Snape Maltings with its concert hall. Pleasurewood Hills theme park and Africa Alive are not to be missed and children will love the treetop experience at BeWILDerwood adventure park. Shops pubs and restaurants 300 yards.\n" https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/793/840/793950.jpg 29445

Excellent location and property near to shops and the Quay and not far from beaches. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a wonderful week at Riverside House. Spectacular views of the river from every window, quiet, cosy, comfortable, well equipped and just like a home from home! We would recommend to others and will return. Thank you to the owners. (We have a holiday cottage in Yorkshire and fully appreciate the thoughtfulness and effort which goes into maintaining such a lovely welcoming place, which some guests who are quick to find criticism over petty things/ things out of owners control etc don’t understand!)

Absolutely beautiful location on the banks of the river Waveney. You can sit for hours watching the world go by and feeling truly relaxed and away from it all. We saw a swan family, rowing skiffs, a kingfisher slimming for fish from the surface of the river. The kitchen has everything you need and the collection of board games suited us down to the ground. A lovely place to stay we would definitely come back.

Comfortable peaceful cottage in a beautiful location right on the river Waveney. Most rooms overlook the river. Town centre within walking distance and two major supermarkets nearby. Norwich approximately half an hour drive. Kitchen cupboards, hooks on doors etc can be a struggle if you are short - the owner has kindly supplied a folding stool but this is not ideal.

Comfortable house, nice spacious lounge and good bedrooms with comfortable beds, good bathroom and shower. However, the kitchen was not up to the same standard as the rest of the house and could benefit from a redesign, but as we ate out most days this was not a problem. Plenty of places to eat in Beccles, nice interesting market town and only a short walk from the house. We particularly enjoyed the location of the house as the riverside view from all the rooms was entertaining and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Had a great holiday with my wife and friends

Well the first time we have rented a cottage with everything you need literally. The fishing was fun for the children, the rowing boat was a treat. Lovely location. Would definitely be returning. Thank you for a perfect holiday.

Excellent setup and lovely location, we were particularly pleased that the Wifi has improved significantly. Looking to book again

Had a great week in Beccles. House perfectly situated on the river and a short stroll into the town centre. The children loved feeding the swans and Egyptian geese that visited every day. I enjoyed fishing from the garden (plenty of small roach, dace and bream, plus a couple of 5lb+ pike), and my lovely wife enjoyed drinking wine on the veranda and waving unsteadily at bemused passengers on the daily flotilla of tourist boats.

A good base for exploring the local area with several very good local amenities.
