Rose Cottage is in a quaint little village, with walking access up to the Moors and a short drive to the coast. Lots of wildlife to see including rabbits, birds and nesting barn owls. It is very cosy and though we didn't use it as it was July the log burner looked lovely. We felt the kitchen was well equipped and modern, it just perhaps could have been a tiny bit cleaner inside cupboards and the freezer. The bedrooms were basic but comfortable with nice bed linen. The bathroom was also ok. A few more towels would have helped. It is a small cottage, ok for a family with young children or a couple but if it was booked with older children or more adults it would be too small, this is mainly due to the small sofa in the living room and only one bathroom. We felt the pictures of the green area outside the cottage were a little misleading. I envisaged my kids playing on this area but it is in fact the car parking area for the cottage and the other cottages there and it had cars there most of the time. We loved the surrounding areas.

Lovely clean cottage let down by the parking issues. The cottage was warm, well presented and comfortable. Unfortunately parking in the allocated space on the village green was impossible due to mud and there was no nearby parking. The car had to be left some distance from the cottage in the village. WiFi was advertised but was very poor. These things spoiled an otherwise pleasant stay.

Nice cottage, well furnished downstairs, although there is only comfortable seating for 4 in the living room. Kitchen is well equipped. Upstairs is basic but clean and adequate. Parking outside the cottage is all but impossible when the grass is wet, tyres slip and churn up mud, we parked on the road after the first night. It is in a lovely location with super walks from the cottage, also easy access to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.

Great clean and cosy location with fabulous bits and bobs in the kitchen to help with bits you might forget. I just wish the WiFi worked. We had to go without for the entire stay and in such a remote area relying on phone data was not a viable option. It is clearly an ongoing issue as the guest book has multiple comments about it. Other issue was the light to rear garden did not work so it was difficult letting the dog in and out and the suggested parking area is simply a piece of grass which was know where near suitable as the car sunk with the wet weather so we had to park on the main access drive to all the properties and walk to the cottage.

Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring the North York Moors and surrounding area. Had a very nice relaxing time.

This is a lovely semi detached cottage built of traditional stone. It has plenty of space inside and the rooms are bright and airy. The cottage has obviously recently had a spruce up and the kitchen is quite new and fully accommodating. There is Wifi provided through a SIM card so can max out but was quite consistent for us and allows Netflix and Prime on the provided TV.

We had a lovely time at the cottage, just a couple a things the WiFi didn’t work at all and there was no phone signal, the tv could be bigger and the bathroom could do with a makeover also needs carpets on the landing and main bedroom. We would definitely stay again the views was amazing as was the kitchen, lovely little cottage, look forward to returning.

Very homely cottage, perfect for young families with every detail thought of, from the stair gate to plastic bowls etc in the kitchen. Lovely little garden which is perfect for stargazing at night and listening to the incredible sounds of the wildlife.
WiFi is actually just a 4G booster and wasn't that effective - we didn't mind too much but worth noting for others who may need it more urgently.
