This charming semi-detached holiday cottage, formerly a monk’s retreat, dates back to 1640 and is full of delightful beams, stone floors and is prettily furnished. Situated above Lake Coniston amongst the woods, through which there is a short path down to the lake, the property is right in the heart of the Lakes National Park. It is situated 2 miles from Coniston with its beautiful and romantic valley surrounded by spectacular scenery, 5 miles from Ambleside with magnificent fells, a mile from Tarn Howes, and with Grizedale Forest behind you, an ideal place to go walking with views of the dales and mountains, and with 60 sculptures across the forest. Windermere is a short ferry trip across the lake, and there is fabulous fell walking, cycling and other activities in the immediate area. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
