Rudda Farm House is a pretty four bedroomed semi-detached property in Staintondale. This delightful cottage oozes charm and character with a kitchen/dining room with a traditional Rayburn oven. Tastefully furnished, the comfortable living area has a wonderful multi-fuel burner and stunning views out into the surrounding countryside and North York Moors National Park. Also benefiting from an enclosed garden at the front and small patio at the rear creating a lovely area to sit and relax in the sun and to take in the glorious panoramic views.
The farm cottages are nested half way between Whitby and Scarborough on the North Yorkshire Coast. There are wonderful walks and cycling straight from the door and out into the National Park and there is bike storage available on site. Enjoy the many delights of the area including hidden coves and beaches, exhilarating cliff top walks and coastal villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay, and Ravenscar where you can walk down to the foot of the cliffs to view the seal colony. Wonderful Whitby is further north with its busy cobbled streets and independent shops offering everything from Gothic clothing to jet stone jewellery. There is an abundance of traditional pubs with live music that accept pets, coffee shops and tea rooms, and an increasingly popular food scene with gastro pubs and bistros complementing award winning fish and chip shops. There are plenty of dog friendly beach areas to explore where you can enjoy rock pooling and fossil hunting. Keep an eye on the events calendar as there is always something happening in Whitby from the famous Goth weekends, a regatta, music festivals and a folk week being highlights of a year round calendar. Just south of Staintondale you will find the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough with its busy amusement arcades, a waterpark and sandy beaches. The open air theatre hosts live international acts throughout the summer, and no trip to Scarborough is complete without a stroll around Peasholm Park and the world-famous Peasholm Park Naval Warfare which takes place throughout the summer.
With the North York Moors National Park right on your doorstep there are many walks and cycle routes to explore, or just enjoy a drive through some of the most stunning scenery. There is so much to see nearby but you may fancy a trip further afield to the walled city of York, an hour away, with its ancient minster and historic buildings. For a family day out visit Flamingo Land Theme Park or perhaps a scenic drive over to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Beach 1½ miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Rudda Farm House can be booked together with Rudda Farm Cottage (UK2492) to accommodate up to 12 guests.

I didn't feel this cottage lived up to its 4 star rating. We arrived and it was freezing cold and there was no way to alter the heating. The kitchen table cloth was covered in rips and the table mats were tatty. There were only three ordinary sized glasses so my young children had to drink their water from wine glasses. The kitchen floor was filthy when I wiped it with a bit of kitchen roll to soak up a spillage. There were large crumbs and other bits in the sofa. The bedside table lamp had no bulb, there was mould in the corner of the smaller double bedroom and the largest double bed mattress was very poor quality so my daughter had to sleep on top of pillows so the springs didn't dig into her. The hit water would literally run out after one bath. Nothing woukd come out if the tap at all. This house has beds for 8 people so you'd expect there to be enough water for more than one bath. Overall, I felt that this house, which could be really lovely, is being poorly cared for and I was really disappointed.

We had a family new years celebration at the farm house, the house fit us all in and had everything we needed. The house was been recently renovated and was really lovely. The beds were so comfortable and we were so warm the whole time. We had a brilliant celebration amd would go back to the cottage to explore the area in the summer. Your roughly half way between Whitby and Scarborough and lots of lovely little seaside towns. A greatbase for a coastal holiday.

Lovely cottage, well equipped with plenty of crockery and pots and pans. Great views and the Kids love the games area. Only downside was the slightly erratic heating but as it’s fairly new to the market , hopefully this is just teething trouble as it was the first really cold spell. Would recommend.

Fantastic house with everything you could need whilst self catering. Games area was great for the kids (outside but under cover). A little unclear how to get in when we first arrived as it was dark and the gate to the rear of the house where you park was closed. Overall a lovely relaxing break in a great house.

Well, we turned up when it was blowing a gale and then on the first night there was a power cut for 4 hours. However, no one cared because we were on holiday, the cottage was superb, the views are breathtaking. We all enjoyed ourselves and even though it was for 3 days our batteries are recharged. Will certainly plan a repeat.

Cottage was good, nice welcome pack, but down stairs loo was very stained, we cleaned it. Heating comes on at set time, so when we were there during the day it was cold. The nearest pub is more than a mile away and you cant get to it unless you walk along the road, which is dangerous at night, we felt that this element was miss sold. Although it was pet friendly it was difficult to walk the dogs from the cottage as everything is fenced off. One small area was available but the wall on the enclosed garden was very low adjacent to the road.
