This was our third visit to Scobach lodge, as before we enjoyed our stay and thought it would be the same, it wasn’t.
This time however we arrived and found that the double bedroom had not been cleaned, bed not changed with particles of hair on the bottom sheet, we also found that the quilt had bodily fluids on it, as did the mattress protector and mattress.
We contacted the owner who got the cleaner to attend on Sunday, our second day, she gave what we thought was a lame excuse that it was a different cleaner and not her that attended before our arrival.
We told her about the sheet and covers, she said she would change them straight away.
Later on on checking the bed, we found the bottom sheet still had not been changed and was the same dirty sheet with body matter on it (putting it politely)
We had to buy our own quilt, quilt cover and bottom sheet after this as we were not going to use the sheets supplied.
The en-suite bathroom had not been cleaned also, the bidet had old skin in it, and toothpaste was visible on the sink, also wet used towels were still in the bathroom.
The mattresses in the double bedroom and the single bedroom are worn and need replacement, especially the one in the single room, it has springs that can be felt badly and is unsupportive and uncomfortable.
On the penultimate day of our stay, two workmen arrived to, as they said, attend to the heating and to look under an inspection panel within the cottage, subsequently they asked me to move our car.
Then they proceeded to dig a whole with a small mechanical digger at the side of the cottage to look for the water main, we did not agree to this and so I emailed the owner, the fifth email of the week, she said I had agreed to the whole being dug, we had not!
It seems very clear that Scobach Lodge has been neglected and the owner is complacent as to its upkeep, disappointing taken that we stayed there twice before without any problem.
I do hope that these issues are addressed and done so expeditiously.
