Had a fabulous week in this well equipped cottage, with our two teenage children. It is in a beautiful quiet location next to a natural beach with much wildlife. It is within easy access to many unspoilt and interesting parts of Galloway. Kirkcudbright, Portpatrick, Castle Douglas, Mossyard Beach and Sand Head Bay are all worth a visit.

Just right for us! Superb location near the sea with good seats to sit and watch the birds go by. Excellent equipment in the cottage - easy to use and all functioning well.....you don’t always get that in cottages. For example, loads of hot water and a good heating system. Small but just right in all it’s proportions. Very nice crockery, cutlery, dining table. Friendly welcome from owner. Excellent.

Friendly owner , very clean cottage , great access onto shingle beach, you can hear road noise from the A75 in the rear bedroom , but the location is very special if you like views and wild life. The beach side of the cottage you lose yourself to the sound of the sea and coastal birds Great part of Scotland to explore and as you are close to the main road, everywhere is easy to get to, and not busy. Great castle ruins, small towns, gardens, forests and beaches in the area , plus so much wildlife from red kites, eagles, roe deer, red deer, and even saw a mink walk off with a baby rabbit. Our dog enjoyed the stay, and will miss the area, Newton Stewart 10 minutes away by car. Great local tea rooms and smoke houses very near.

We loved the cottage the moment we arrived, it felt like home from home, very comfortable and well equipped, we didn’t sit outside much as we felt too close to the people sitting outside next door, but we would stay again.

This is by far the most wonderful holiday location ever, lying in bed listening to the sea or looking at the night sky to see the millions of stars, no need to go to the Dark Sky Forest as its right on your doorstep, watching all the birds on the shore. You get a lovely welcome from Kate and she is only down the road if you need any help, the neighbours are also very welcoming. Could do with a mop to help keep the cottage to the standard that they set, as we like to keep the cottage as clean as when we arrived, the smoke alarm is also very sensitive every time you open the oven door it set them off or the toaster. They are only minor things otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave, we would recommend the cottage to anyone who likes a peaceful holiday.

A great place to stay kitchen opens out onto the rocks and beach for walks and quiet off the track stay. Easy travel to Newton Stewart and Castle Douglas for shops. Easy to use log fire makes for cosy days in even when cold or rainy. 3rd time staying here highly recommended, but don't expect a power shower as runs from a spring and trickles and if your 6 foot 2 like me mind your head in the main bedroom.
