A beautiful house with all the modern amenities whilst retaining the character of an 18th century build . Superb location so close to the sea. Everything you need for a very comfortable stay .

Our family had such a great time in Norfolk, and the Smugglers Lookout was the perfect base. A home away from home!

Perfect location for a beach holiday, beach is only a couple of minutes walk. Beds and bedrooms very comfortable but spoilt by very low uncomfortable sofas, not the three two seater leather ones as shown in the picture , but old material ones that neither the two elderly guests or my pregnant daughter could sit in. The weather , being dreadful, no ones fault, meant we spent alot of time in the cottage and three of the party spent the week sitting on dining chairs.. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and utensils but we had to wash all the cutlery and pans as they had not been cleaned properly before we could use them. I had asked if there was a bbq and told yes so did not take one. The bbq was broken with one leg unattached to the base. It was too dangerous to use so we bought a disposable one. Unfortunatly a disappointing review , but an honest one. There are some lovely points about the house but the lack of comfort was really a spoiler for us.

Firstly we enjoyed our holiday so much that we have booked to go again next year. We read all the reviews before we booked so that we knew what we would be getting. We do cottages a lot so know what to look for. This cottage, which is large, and the pictures don't really reflect that, is in an absolute prime location for the beach and the clifftop walks. The beach is literally a minute from the house. We saw seals almost every day. We walked into the little , very quaint town each day. There is a skate park, park, playing field and a few little shops, ice cream parlour and cafe's. Further into town there is a fantastic butchers, Post Office ( where they are so helpful) and a fish stall, bakers. A wonderful fish and chip shop. It is much quieter than Sheringham and Cromer but that's just the way we like it. Lovely walks near by. Views of the sea from the cottage. It can be a little difficult to walk down the hill but we had a disabled guest and found with a buggy it was fine. The cottage itself is, despite other reviews extremely well equipped with every sort of kitchen utensil, cleaning product you could want. There is an airer and a washing line ( you just need to look). The heating is extremely efficient and having a washing machine was a bonus. The garden is enclosed and the side garden was lovely and private. The 2 main bedrooms are large and yes it only has one bathroom ( you know that when you book) but the second bedroom has a sink, the main bedroom an additional shower ( not as efficient as the main one) and there are two toilets. The third bedroom works well with 2 single beds. The cottage is quaint but we loved that. Our only constructive point is that the fridge is right next to the boiler which did prove somewhat awkward and the settees although really large were a little uncomfortable and low for our older guests but that really is the only thing for us. Towels are extra on top of the price, it would be useful if these were included. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The parking for us was fine, we had three cars and had no problem getting them into the allocated spaces, two were large SUV's. We had our two grandchildren with us, they absolutely loved the week and our granddaughter had her 5th birthday there. The owners were extremely helpful and all in all we loved it.
