This was a lovely cottage, very cosy. We did not find the street noise intrusive as some reviews have said. The shower room is tiny but very clever how they got it to fit in upstairs. My son adored the smart TV and the new sofa is very comfy. If you want a central Bakewell cottage with less walking up hills then this is definitely the one. Thank you for a lovely break.

This is a nice cottage in a convenient location for Bakewell town centre. The parking isn’t entirely convenient as free parking is not included from 11am to 4pm. Although close to the road it’s a quiet location and we slept well.

Starry Cottage was lovely. Well equipped, very clean and close to the town centre. However, the cottage was situated on an incline which was not mentioned on the website. Had we known this prior to our visit we would not have booked. Also, the road outside the cottage is extremely busy. With traffic flying by late into the night. Again this was not mentioned on the website and we found this quite disturbing. Lastly the television reception was quite poor sometimes going on and off during programmes.

Lovely cottage, ideal location. Really enjoyed our stay. Shame about the front door not being fitted properly. This lets the traffic noise into the front room and is really noticeable on an evening as the cottage is on a main road. The traffic noise overtakes the tv.

What’s fabulous little place, absolutely fell in love, location was brilliant, no parking but it wasn’t an issue, we parked up the road and didn’t move the car till we were ready to come home, the only thing I would say is that it’s crying out for a COUPLE of comfy sofas, the two seater wasn’t at all comfortable and the two tub chairs were very small, if they were to change the seating furniture it would be absolutely perfect and I would DEFINITELY RETURN NEXT YEAR, we all had a wonderful Christmas!!!!

We would have been happier with on street parking permit as we are used to in other Bakewell cottages. Front of property needs secondary glazing and front door doesn't shut correctly so we used a spoon in latch to tighten door. Tv too complicated.Cottage lovely and warm just needs issues sorted

Lovely cottage and very convenient for the centre of Bakewell. The only negative was that one lamp was broken and another couple of lamps were missing bulbs and the replacements in the cupboard did not fit those lamps.

The cottage is in a great location a couple of minutes from the heart of Bakewell. It is a nice cosy cottage but there are few too many issues with it for us to return in the future. As other reviewers have said the main issues are: The lack of parking - we had to park about 5 minutes walk away and then walk back to the cottage via a foot path. The parking permit is pretty much useless as it's only valid from 4pm to 11am the next day and the car park is at least 10 minutes walk away! Parking generally in Bakewell appears to be a nightmare. Road noise and church clock - the cottage is in a brilliant location for the town but couldn't be any closer to one of the main roads in and out of the town. From 6am the traffic noise was very noticeable and without double glazing there was no way to close it out. Equally the church clock chimes every 15 minutes 24 hours a day. TV reception - this was very lacking with only around 15 channels available via Freeview, having the smart TV got round most of this as we could use iPlayer to watch BBC channels. Bakewell is a lovely place we'd happily return to but I'd be looking for accommodation not on a main road and with it's own off road parking.

Nice little cottage in the town of Bakewell. Cottage was well appointed with the exception of some small details, that are easily remedied (I recommend robe hooks/ towel hooks in bedrooms and bathroom, as well as a small shelf in the bathroom, as there is no place to hang or put anything). Cottage was very clean, and a small heating issue (previous guests had changed the timer on the thermostat) was addressed quickly. Parking is definitely a challenge in Bakewell, and off site parking for the cottage is about a block and a half away, up a steep hill and side street. If guests have mobility challenges, this could present issues. The church is right across the street, and I loved hearing the bells on Sunday morning! Overall a nice stay, and good value!
