Situated on the beautiful Airds Estate in Port Appin and 5 minutes’ walk from Port Appin’s excellent restaurants, Steading Cottage is a three bedroom cottage in a listed 300-year-old farm building. It is 50 metres from the beach with direct access. There is no public road between you and the shoreline - it’s very private!
You’re just metres from the coastal village of Port Appin where the passenger ferry crosses over to the beautiful isle of Lismore. There’s a licensed community-run village store, gift shop and some lovely coastal walks, including to nearby historic Castle Stalker. It’s also home to two of Scotland’s most prestigious eating places, so you can walk along, enjoy an excellent meal and a drink without requiring a car! Within 3½ miles of the cottage, there is an excellent choice of cafés and inns, all offering breath-taking views and delicious local food with the nearby village of Appin, offering gift shops, cafés, hotel, and a renowned garden centre. The hillwalking and mountaineering opportunities in the area are spectacular.
Despite its tranquillity, Port Appin is conveniently located. It’s about 15 minutes’ drive from the grandeur of Glencoe, with its stunning scenery, history, popular walks and climbs. The popular town of Oban is a 19-mile drive and is famous for being the ‘Seafood Capital of Scotland’ and ‘Gateway to the Isles’ as you can catch ferries to many of the islands from there. It’s just 45 minutes from Fort William, often known as the ’Outdoor Capital of the UK’, due to the huge range of outdoor activities on offer there and its proximity to Ben Nevis. Beach 1 mile.
Steading Cottage (UKC5957) can be booked together with Coachman’s Bothy (UKC5958) to accommodate up to 12 guests.
