• About Stob-Ban View

Spectacular mountain views across Glen Nevis are an impressive feature of this romantic retreat – its glass gable ensures maximum aspects even from the mezzanine floor bedroom. Very comfortably furnished and boasting its own garden and deck overlooking that glorious view, it sits within the grounds of the owners’ home, a mile from the town facilities. The UK’s best mountain bike tracks are close by (there are two bicycles available free of charge for exploring them) and, with a footpath to Ben Nevis just 0.5 miles away, the local hill walking, climbing and skiing (in season) are excellent. Trips to the Silver Sands of Morar and ferry port of Mallaig, passing Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745, are a must. Shop and pub 0.25 miles.

I had a great time with wonderful weather and not so. But the stunning views and the nice welcome of the owner and their helpful information helped to forget about the rain. The location is wonderful with a pub, hiking trails and the next town in reach. I would certainly come back again.

We stayed 3 days in this lovely 2 person cottage near to Fort William. The owners were lovely and had helpfully provided some milk and home made scones which was a nice touch meaning we could have a much needed coffee when we arrived quite late in the evening after our long drive. Given the mezzanine level and huge window the chance to enjoy the amazing view was a big draw for us and indeed we spent a long time just gazing out onto the mountains and blue skies. Also the garden bird feeders attract many local birds to the garden which we enjoyed watching with our coffee in the morning. The kitchen seems pretty well stocked with crockery and equipment, maybe missing a washing bowl and other little items could bring it up a level but perfectly adequate for us as we only stayed a couple of days and we preferring to eat out. There were some sugar, salt and pepper sachets what others had left but a nice touch would be to have some stock kitchen supplies such as Tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, other useful items such as washing powder tablets etc would be nice to have. We had brought our own as am sure many do. Bathroom would benefit a wall mirror and towel hooks. No full length mirror in property. Bed and Sofa are comfortable with lovely feather pillows. We moved the sofa further into the centre of the room to take advantage of the view through the patio doors. About 3/4 mile away is the Nevis assent and associated pub where we enjoyed evenings with log fires and food. We never managed to find or connect to the wifi so cannot comment on the strength etc - the password was not clear in the folder pack of instructions. Did get a bit chilly without the heating in the evenings but gets warm quick enough when the heating is on. All in all a relaxing few days, would visit again.

Couldn’t be more perfect location! The villa is right next to the drive way to Ben Nevis! And 5 minutes from town. Amazing views, loved waking up and seeing the mountains covered with snow in the morning. Really could of stayed there longer 4 days wasn’t enough! The owners are very nice and helpful. Will defiantly go back.

Decided to book a last minute holiday to Fort William, Scotland and after looking at many holiday cottages I finally came to this one and I am so glad I chose it. The view looking out across Glen Nevis and the slopes of Ben Nevis itself at no more than a 10 minute walk away are breath taking. The property in it self was very warm and welcoming, extremely relaxing and very spacious. Would definitely recommend.

We had a brilliant holiday and found the property had everything we needed. The owners (next door) were friendly and helpful. In view of previous reviews I went prepared with seat cushions and utensils - they were not required it looks very much like any suggestions made are acted upon promptly. Don't let the comments re the shower put you off, yes the water pressure is not good but if you just take the shower head down and use as a hand held it is perfectly adequate. Feel a dishwasher would be of more bebefit than a washing machine.

Lovely cottage with fantastic views of the mountain. A little talc is required but didn't spoil our holiday.

Well furnished, clean & comfortable in good location. We were disappointed by very low-powered shower & Internet. The reason we would not stay again is that we always like to explore and visit new places...but if you like to establish a connection with an area then friendly hosts and all you need in Fort William with fantastic country all around.

A fabulous location and friendly owners. A modern, clean cottage, but things like a mirror in the bathroom and hook on the door for a dressing gown would have enhanced the experience. Small things, I know. An enjoyable stay with lots of amenities close at hand, especially the steam railway and Morrisons. The only reason we won't be back is because we never visit the same area twice. Not because of the property. Well worth a visit.
