Amble is a small, friendly fishing town with a working harbour, a marina, and a small beach. On the harbour are some small pod-style shops, and on a Sunday, there is a popular and busy market where locals buy fish, fruit and vegetables. The small lobster hatchery is a popular tourist attraction, and around the harbour are some small fish restaurants, two fish and chip shops, and an Italian-style ice cream shop which sells a fantastic range of ice cream flavours. Boat trips are available from here to Coquet Island to see the RSPB bird sanctuary. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away, and you can enjoy a lovely walk whilst admiring the view of Warkworth Castle, which is set on the small hillside awash with daffodils in the spring. The pubs, bespoke shops and pretty riverside are a real attraction, and with free parking, it is a popular little place to visit. Alnwick is 14 miles away with its cobbled streets and famous castle which featured in the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey TV series. The water gardens are beautiful at any time of the year, and the spectacular grand cascade waterfall, as well as the world’s largest treehouse restaurant, should not be missed.
Amble is on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Northumberland Heritage Coastline has some of the most unspoilt beaches and picturesque coastline in England, with plenty of footpaths and cycle paths to be discovered. Amble is a great location for exploring the whole of the county of Northumberland, and has a good selection of amenities on your doorstep. Beach 1 mile. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 800 yards.

We had a lovely week at Teal House. The house is on new estate but looks out onto countryside & is very quiet. It is within 10 minutes walk of Amble town centre. The cottage is clean & very comfortable. It is very well equipped & had a lovely garden. Three humans & two dogs loved staying at Teal House & I'm sure we will visit again in the future.

We loved our stay at Teal House and felt instantly at home. The house was spotlessly clean, really comfortable and had everything we needed. The welcoming pack was such a lovely touch. We’re new to Northumberland and loved the area so much. The house is near enough to walk to the harbour if wanted and a great location to discover places further afield by car.

I couldn't fault the house, beautiful inside and out, with everything you need for a break away. Lovely welcome pack for both us and our dog, which was very appreciated. The house is located just on the edge of Amble, ideal location for visiting the Northumbrian coastline and surrounding areas. We visited lots of beautiful beaches with our dog, Low Newton, Duridge Bay, Warkworth to name a few. The only reason I haven't given 10 for the location, is personal preference as didn't like been in the middle of a new estate. But if this doesn't bother you then would highly recommend.
