Just yards from the seashore in the quaint fishing village of Cairnbulg, this fully renovated, detached fisherman’s cottage is a haven of relaxation. The rooms are decorated in a calming style with comfortable bedrooms and an attractive open plan living space which looks over the enclosed courtyard to the front of the cottage. The twin villages of Inverallochy and Cairnbulg together form a wonderfully atmospheric location with narrow streets and alleys, which remind you of times past when the area was home to fishermen and every cottage had its own boat pulled up outside. Today the locals still make use of the washing lines on the shore to dry their laundry in the sea breeze.
This stretch of coastline with wide, sandy beaches evokes a sense of space and tranquillity. The magnificent Northern Lights are often seen in winter here as there is little light pollution, and the long days of summer enable visitors to fully enjoy their surroundings. Take a walk along Fraserburgh’s beach and harbour or a visit to Kinnaird Castle and Museum of Scottish Lighthouses, while further along the coast, nature lovers can get up early to watch pink-footed geese take off with the rising winter sun. Golfers can enjoy a round on one of the many courses within close proximity, with Inverallochy itself boasting a course where every hole looks out onto the North Sea. Boat trips can be arranged from Fraserburgh Harbour to get up close to the extensive marine life in these waters, including dolphins, minke whales, porpoises and gannets. In the village there is a selection of shops while further amenities can be found in Fraserburgh, 4 miles. Beach 100 yards. Shop 400 yards, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We had a very comfortable, restful and interesting holiday. We particularly enjoyed the Heritage Centre in Fraserburgh, the lighthouse and the fishing harbour. We also enjoyed a visit to Peterhead hearbour and the old prison museum. Our accomodationwas excellent and the cottage was most thoughtfully furnished and equipped.

Cottage very comfortable, with plenty of room, well equipped. Basic provisions provided, a nice touch. Bikes were also left for our use, although we didn't use them.

Super family holiday at The Beachcomber. Very comfortable cottage with local co-op and ice cream shop within 5 mins walk away. Great touch by the owners to leave a selection of essentials to give more homely feel. Would recommend if planning on visiting this beautiful area of Scotland.

Had an amazing time here, it's beautifully decorated, furnished & roomy, it had everything needed except a freezer, the owner made sure there were basics in such as bread, milk, some tinned food, there was even some wash tabs if you wanted to do some washing, it was very close to the sea & peaceful, we will be back & will be recommending it to friends & family

Had a brilliant time staying at the Beachcomber in Cairnbulg. Cottage was perfect for the three adults and two children in our group. Clean, cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Stepping out the front door offers great views out to sea, there is a nearby beach and a wide array of wildlife - hearing the seals in the morning as the sun comes up is quite amazing! The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area - definitely recommend the Lighthouse Museum at nearby Fraserburgh and Peterhead Prison Museum, plus visits to the many small fishing villages such as Pennan and Gardenstown. Overall we had a brilliant stay and I would highly recommend the Beachcomber to anyone who wishes to visit this part of Scotland.
