The Cart House offers a comfortable and relaxing base for couples and families wishing to explore this popular part of Hampshire and is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists. Formerly the barn was an open-fronted, timber-framed building with cart bays at one end and an adjoining hay loft which was then cleverly converted. Finished to an exceptionally high standard, the accommodation on the ground floor comprises a beautiful large kitchen/dining room with a vaulted ceiling and an array of original exposed beams, a living room with doors onto the garden, one double bedroom and one kingsize bedroom with en-suite. On the first floor there is a further mezzanine bedroom that overlooks the kitchen/dining room with its own en-suite toilet. At the other end of the barn is a second mezzanine that looks out over the adjoining countryside, that makes the perfect snug.
Conveniently located for local pubs and restaurants - the nearest only a minute’s walk away, and slightly further is a comprehensive range of independent shops, such as a butcher, bakery, greengrocers and more. Bishop’s Waltham nearby has interesting places to visit such as the 12th century ruins of Bishop’s Waltham Palace, the museum, and the Roman Church. Marwell Zoo is just a 15-minute drive away. Paulton Park, home of Peppa Pig World, is 30 minutes’ drive away. The naval city of Portsmouth is 14 miles away, with its historic dockyard, home to Nelson’s Victory and The Mary Rose, along with waterside dining, extensive designer shops at Gun Wharf Quays and ferry trips to the Isle of Wight. The historic cathedral city of Winchester less than 30 minutes’ drive. It boasts many historic attractions such as Winchester Cathedral, King Arthur’s Round Table and Jane Austen’s House. The city is also host to many events throughout the year including street theatre, jazz festivals and outdoor cinema and film events. Also known for its Christmas market with outdoor ice rink. Wander round the cobbled streets of Winchester see you stumbling across some of the best boutique shops and home to a thriving food scene. Beach 10½ miles.
