The cottage was reasonably clean. The owner lived on site and she was having building work done. It would have started a couple of days into our stay as the owner's wife advised but the builders were rained off, but I presume eventually there would have been a cement mixer working and builders. There was nowhere really to walk our dog, although we were told of a path to a field but it was all very overgrown and we did not want our dog to get tics. The road was noisy and started early. There was no pavement to walk into the village and you couldn't walk along the road as it was too busy and dangerous to do so. We had a small garden, fenced off with a lawn but it was very difficult to move into the property with luggage etc as you had to keep an eye on the gate or the dog would get out. The owners had a large front garden but you couldn't let your dog loose on this as they had a dove cote and there were no gates so the dog could have got out into the road. The main problem at this property, and has been mentioned previously on Reevoo and in the visitors book at the cottage, were THE FLIES. There was a fly strip above the fridge freezer in the kitchen on arrival which had at least 15 flies on it. That put me off for a start as seeing dead flies whilst eating is not nice. We changed the fly strip the next day and within 24 hours the fly strip was full again. We took pictures of the flies, they were just everywhere. We think it was probably the pigeons and doves mess in the main front garden that was attracting the flies, or the septic tank or the flies coming underneath the wooden floor and there were holes in certain areas of the floor where flies could come up. There could have been a dead rat or mouse under the floorboards we just don't know. The owners wife told us that she didn't have flies in her house and the owner came to see us and just really shrugged his shoulders and said its the country! But we live in the country and we don't have a problem with flies. I have never, in my 55 years, had to use a fly strip. We moved out of the property on our 4th night out of 11 and tried to claim our money back. I can't stress enough the flies and there is also a rat and mouse issue as the owners had plug in rodent deterrents and we found mouse droppings. Apparently the owner has had pest control people visit the cottage and they have said that 'this is not an infestation of flies', well I am speechless. The owner gave us very minimal compensation. We feel that we were ripped off. I wanted to write this review in a fair minded manner but this is the best I can do. We have been told that the owner will be making a comment on this review and obviously he will not be accepting what we have said but the above is true.

Lovely cottage. Great for dogs with enclosed garden. Fantastically equiped although hot water seemed to be in shortish supply (minor point).

A lovely cottage, very comfortable and private. Enclosed garden is ideal for bringing a dog. The pub in the village was excellent. However, it is not possible to walk to the pub as the road is very busy and there is no pavement. On the down side there are very few long walks possible direct from the cottage as the number of public footpaths is limited.

We had a long weekend break here. It was fabulous, the location is great, for peace & quiet. The cottage itself is so lovely. The owner met us with the key when we arrived, and showed us round. She had even made us a lovely lemon drizzle cake, and there was tea bags, coffee and milk in the fridge. Which was very welcomed as we had arrived later than expected. We were told where the local shops were, about 10 mins drive away. Where there was supermarkets, take aways, etc. We had plenty of logs for the log burner for the first day, then were able to buy some locally the next day. The weather, when we were there, was nice, albeit a bit cold. But we were lovely and cosy. The cottage throughout was very clean, and homely. We would definitely recommend a visit. We are hoping to visit again in the future.

What a wonderful find. Our dogs settled in right away and dog owners will appreciate the relief and convenience of a private and secure garden you can just open the door straight onto. Really comfortable and homely converted barn with a great kitchen and everything you need. Horrible weather when we stayed but was always cosy and warm. This is not a perfect modern let - this is a quirky and fascinating old building with lots of character. Only 10 minutes to Attleborough and 20 minutes to Norwich. A lovely bonus was the beautiful dovecot and flock of doves on the lawn opposite!

Fantastic, homely cottage in a beautiful country setting. We were welcomed on arrival and when settling into the cottage had a lovely homemade cake and refreshments to sit down to! We would happily recommend, the cottage is extremely well kept and comfortable and we would hope to return at a later date.

The cottage is in a very nice location and overall was in good order. The owners had left a home made lemon drizzle cake, and a fresh bottle of milk in the fridge for when we arrived. The inside of the cottage was clean and tidy with fresh linen throughout. The only thing that let it down was the fly infestation when we arrived, which took a few days to get under control and eradicate just in time to leave.

Great place to stay with access to A11 not too far away. A great base for exploring Norfolk. The Cottage is warm and comfortable and the equipment easy to use. The only issue is the busy road. It can be noisy in the rush hour and care is needed pulling out of the driveway. However do not let this put anyone off. The owner is lovely and we would definitely return especially for the welcome cake!
