The open-plan layout has tall ceilings in the living area and original beams. The kitchen is spacious and very well-equipped. Dining is at the breakfast bar that connects the kitchen and living area. Unique features include a wood burner for winter warmth, an impressive in-floor well with a glass top and colour-changing lights that create a mesmerising light display on the ceiling above, and underfloor heating in the bathroom plus mood lighting to enhance your relaxation. The bedroom contains a wonderfully comfortable super kingsize bed that can also be made into a twin bed by request at the time of booking.
Parking is immediately adjacent to the property and to the front of the property is a semi-private outdoor seating area with west-facing views that afford The Dairy with some truly remarkable sunsets. The outdoor seating area then opens onto The Orchard, which is where you may freely exercise any dogs accompanying you. The Orchard also forms part of the 1-mile walk around the farm and can be used as an additional sitting out area on the various benches and seats provided. You may also enjoy a quick relax in the hammock or a gentle swing in the tree swing at the old oak tree.
It is from The Orchard where you might like to start the 1-mile walk that gently takes you around the farm estate. On this walkabout, you can enjoy some lovely views and sights including an enclosed wildlife area, new wooded areas, and an open wildflower meadow, and meet some of the resident farm animals onsite including Kunekune pigs, sheep, goats, hens, ducks, and other poultry. All of these are pets, there to enhance the visitor experience. The latter also provides some of the most excellent free-range eggs!
The Dairy comes with a charcoal-fired BBQ as standard, to be used at your pleasure. It is a big hit with couples who seek quality accommodation, something memorable, and perhaps a little romance. People who love the great outdoors and some natural wonder.
Locally are Arnside and Silverdale – the heart of this National Landscape – plus an abundance of nature reserves and other places rich in nature to explore. RSPB Leighton Moss is no more than a five-minute drive from the property. During your stay, you might also visit sites managed by The National Trust or Wildlife Trust, and Lake Windermere is only thirty minutes away.
This property can be booked together with The Coach House (UK38044) and Corner Cottage (UK38045) to accommodate up to 12 guests.
