The Lavvu Tipi was Inspired by a dwelling used by the Sami people of northern Scandinavia - nomadic travellers who traverse the cold tundra of Norway, Sweden, and Finland with their reindeer herds. Combining the basic structure of a tipi with the crown of a yurt. The Lavvu has a wonderfully unique, cocoon-like feel to it.
The open-plan living space is furnished with one double and two single beds, a functional kitchen, soft lighting, and colourful throws, plus a wood-burning stove to keep you lovely and toasty. Numerous nut feeders bring in woodpeckers, nuthatches, finches to mention but a few! Around the site, there are lots of ponds that are great for wildlife and a wonderful diversity of plants and insects.
A short walk takes you to a variety of wonderful communal areas including showers, toilets, play area, a large fire-pit, and a log cabin for communal feasts or get-togethers. The family play area, with magical gardens and woodlands, stepping stones, totem poles, Buddha’s and secret fairy doors, hidden in the surrounding woods. Den building and discovering nature are encouraged. There are also relaxing treatments on offer to be booked in advance with the owner from the comfort of the yurt or Tipis.
