A stunning house in a beautiful location, with great facilities. Warmly recommended.

The manor is quirky and unique, very nice feeling. only hard thing was the stairs on the downstairs bedroom were a bit slippy and worn. Kitchen was a bit cold too but loved the house and feel. We had a lovely time and only wish we could have stopped longer. Felt very homely. The oven wasn't working properly but we gave the reception a call and she came straight over and got us a microwave oven we could use. Great service.

We absolutely loved this weekend away. It was a break for 4 families of 4. Rooming are a little odd, and luckily we ended up bringing 2 spare blow up beds to make it work, but it was fine. Note: one of the children’s beds is in a tiny cupboard in the master bedroom, our 6 year old was too small for this bed (despite it saying it was suitable for 8 years and under, I would say it’s the right size for under 5s max, however even if she had fit she was terrified at the thought of sleeping in a cupboard). One of the double rooms down stairs was unused as a result of children going on the floor in parents rooms in blow up beds. Also one of the double beds is a pull out sofa in the entrance hall. But again not a problem as we fit elsewhere in the property. We had 2 children who had to sleep at the top of an incredibly steep flight of stairs as well. So careful planning needs to go into rooming, and bringing spare blow up just in case, is def a good idea. We were there through 45 mph winds and very heavy rains in January so the heating was left on pretty much the whole weekend so had no issues with the cold. Hot tub is lovely, pool is very small and highly chlorinated. Unfortunately the sauna also didn’t work. The social spaces are amazing and even tho most of the weekend was spent indoors we never felt cramped , even with 16 people. Would definitely return. HoPefully in warmer months! Finally one of the best parts of the holiday was the customer service we revived from Lolly the house keeper, she replied within half an hour pretty much every time we contacted her and was incredibly accommodating!!

The Manor House was comfortable for us as a family with three adult children very clean and provided us with the historic ambience we were expecting for Christmas week. The four main bedrooms with bathrooms are excellent. A few points of caution the WIFI only works in the sitting room which was not great for my daughter trying to revise for exams and is restricted usage per device. Cars cannot be brought next to the house but need to use the carpark then a large trolley to push to the bottom of the steps and carry stuff manually up the steps and through the topiary garden. The house is definitely not suitable for anyone elderly who has trouble with stairs. The downstairs kitchen was very cold indeed and the loo (the only one downstairs) and bathroom are freezing - this servicing the double bedroom on the ground floor. However all the other rooms are really warm and cosy which is potentially as there is more than one heating system. Three beds are accessed upstairs via a single bedroom then two up a small wooden staircase more like a ladder possibly OK for children. There was no coal bucket/log basket or equipment to make the open fires in the sitting room and kitchen but both worked well when lit. Fire guards and protective gloves should be provided. Lolly the housekeeper was very helpful. She is allergic to holly and Christmas trees only small artificial ones included. There were quite a lot of notices with rules which was a bit off -putting. We really enjoyed the private hot tub with the luxury of bathrobes provided. The pool was just about big enough for laps but more suitable for children. The area was fantastic - Haddon Hall is worth a visit and near enough to walk - we had a well priced roast lunch on Sunday - however you need to pay a ticket to see the castle itself so worth going for a the full day - no discounts for half a day. Chatsworth was amazing - we only managed to get tickets for the gardens but well worth it - totally awesome statues, grottoes, fountains, waterfalls and incredible views - need to pre-book online for tickets to see around the house itself - they were all sold out when we turned up. There is also a lot more there which we did not get to explore - eg a swimming baths, farm shop and more. Definitely have a Bakewell slice in Bakewell!

It was in many ways perfect for what we wanted but it was cold even tho we had fires in both the sitting room and the kitchen.

We had a fabulous weekend in the Manor house! It was everything we expected and more. Very clean and full of character with creaking floorboards and really old wooden doors. Plenty of tvs and bathrooms with nearly every bedroom having an en suite. Well equipped kitchen with loads of pots and cutlery so we could fill one of the dishwashers while the other was washing the dirty things. Two fridges so we had one full of food and the other with bottles and cans. Robes and flip flops provided for the hot tub and swimming pool which was very useful. We had use of the games room which the kids loved and had a small table tennis table, snooker/pool table and air hockey/football game. Kept them quiet for a couple of hours. We requested a child's cot and high chair and both were there ready for us. Staff were very helpful and even left a cake and wine for our anniversary celebration - a lovely touch. Would recommend the Manor House for anyone wanting that somewhere special and a little bit different.

We spent a long weekend at the Manor for our Golden Wedding celebration and our party - 12 adults, 3 infants and 1 dog - were delighted with the space, facilities, pool, games room and hot tub. Plenty of room for everybody. The only thing to note is that from the description of bedrooms and bathrooms, it is assumed that they are all en suite but the downstairs bedroom has its shower room accessed from the kitchen. It didn’t bother us at all but I suppose it may be a deal breaker for some people. We loved the history of the Manor, it’s an old, quirky building and really enjoyed our time there. Good communication with housekeeping team.

Unfortunately we had no boiler so no hot water. Large group so total nightmare. Owner told us we were lying when water started coming through the ceiling. Housekeeper didn’t really care so ruined our time. We were quite shocked at how unhelpful they were.
