Explore the labyrinth of quirky narrow streets and ginnels, stroll down to the harbour and cobbled market place and climb the 199 steps up to the famous abbey, with breath-taking views along the coastline. You are spoilt for choice with numerous restaurants, pubs, wine bars and quaint tea rooms, whilst all visitors must sample the renowned fish and chips!
Enjoy the long sandy beaches with brightly painted beach huts, donkey rides and seafood stalls, whilst the surrounding area offers a wealth of attractions, whether it’s a trip on the steam train, exhilarating clifftop walks, or discovering the pretty fishing villages of Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes.
