A brilliant spot for walkers and cyclists too, there are many walks, footpaths and cyclepaths that pass by the racecourse and out into Hexham and beyond. Only a few miles north of the town, guests will be able to visit Hadrian’s Wall and take a walk along this historic site that stretches over 70 miles. Guests will be able to explore ruined forts, museums and a Roman town along the way. Chesters Roman Fort and Museum, Birdoswald Roman Fort, Housesteads Roman Fort, Vindolanda and The Sill all offer a brilliant insight into the history of the area and make a great day out for guests of all ages.
