The Roost is a charming Norfolk brick-and-flint cottage, ideally located for both the coast and the Norfolk Broads. The cottage is especially suited to dog owners since it benefits from a fully-fenced front garden and also a courtyard at the rear which is a real sun trap. If you enjoy peace and solitude, The Roost is just perfect. You can sit out in the tranquil garden listening to the sounds of birdsong in the summer whilst your dog can enjoy exploring the garden. In addition to electric central heating the cottage has a welcoming wood burner, which the owners will light prior to your arrival and provide all the logs and kindling you will need during your stay.
This cottage is ideally located on the outskirts of the sought-after village of Northrepps where you can walk down to the local pub to enjoy great Norfolk pub grub and a choice of Norfolk beers and beverages. Public footpaths from the doorstep enable you to walk through ancient bluebell woods, enjoy the magnificent clifftop views or simply amble down to Overstrand beach which is a 20-minute walk from the cottage.
Cromer is approximately three miles away boasting its iconic Grade II listed pier housing the Pavilion Theatre, along with a lovely beach and a variety of pubs, restaurants and cafés where you can idle away the day. Don’t forget to pick up your fish and chips or buy Cromer crab, which is the speciality of the town. In addition to being a stone’s throw from the coast, the cottage is also ideally placed to visit The Broads, which are just a half hour’s drive away. You could also hire a boat for the day on one of Norfolk’s beautiful waterways or take a trip to Holt (12 miles away), the elegant Georgian town with its boutiques, food hall, café culture, antique showrooms and art galleries.
