This pretty three bedroom cottage is ideal for a family seaside holiday in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. The property is situated in a quiet location and enjoys sea views from the living room, master bedroom, balcony and roof top terrace. The living room has large bay windows allowing light to flood in, whilst the wood burner offers a more cosy feel on cooler nights. Relax on the roof terrace or enjoy your lunch al fresco whilst looking out over Wheelers Bay and on to the Downs beyond.
Just a short walk down the steps brings you to Wheelers Bay with its impressive sea wall. Within a 5-minute walk from the cottage is Ventnor, a Victorian seaside town with a sandy beach and fishing harbour where you can buy fresh fish. The town offers a varied range of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, some with live music. A walk along the beautiful coastal path, which runs from Ventnor to Sandown, brings you to Steephill Cove, with no road access, this is one of the prettiest coves on the island. Nearby are the Botanical Gardens, which house a sub-tropical and exotic plant collection, with plants from around the world. Take the coastal path east and you will find yourself following the sea wall to the pretty village of Bonchurch, where Charles Dickens is said to have written part of ’David Copperfield’. The beach here is excellent and at low tide there are plenty of rock pools to explore. Beach ¼ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
