    The appartment was in our eyes, perfect. A nice touch was the bottle of bubbly and chocolates left for our arrival. Our only gripe , the heating was turned off and it took 3 / 4 hours to heat the place up, before we were able to take our coats off and relax.

    An absolute stunning location. Central to surrounding areas; Bakewell, Chatsworth, Matlock and the like. The apartment was homely. Almost everything was there to make our stay a pleasurable one, and the romance of sleeping in a four-poster bed was in deed a bonus, as was the bottle of fizz and chocolates. The decor is very dated though, with a few scuffs and chips around the place, and looked like something Great Aunt Emily would be proud of. The apartment would benefit greatly with the addition of WiFi. But most of the surrounding pubs and hotel bars had free WiFi, so a nice evening walk to the pub wasn’t all bad. The allocated parking space is a definite God-send, but, be warned, it is very tight to reverse in to. It was a shame that on Wednesday morning the scaffolding unexpectedly arrived to spoil the beautiful views from the living-room window and obscured our “people watching” experience. Over all, we had a very nice, relaxing break at the Savoy. The big downers were the lack of WiFi and the appearance of the scaffolding. Both of which we feel could’ve been mentioned on the phone by the owners before hand.

    The location of this apartment could not be better! In the centre of Buxton, everything you need within walking distance, private off road parking and beautiful views over the gardens and the crescent (unfortunately now being renovated, but that is not the fault of the apartment!) Buxton is perfect for exploring the Peak District, so many sights a short drive away. The decoration in the apartment is perhaps a little overdone, for a longer stay is would be handy to have room for your own belongings(!), but adds to the charm, as does the huge four poster bed! The only problem is that it does really need freshening up, everything is a bit worn and tired looking. Still, we had a really good holiday here!
