Unfortunately we only stayed for one evening as we had an unfortunate incident with one of our dogs who managed to get into the pig pen. The garden wasn't secure so we had to take them out on their leads every time they needed the toilet and because it was so muddy, I slipped and dropped the lead resulting in the dog getting in with the pigs (he'd been desperate to since we got there). We were all covered in mud and with there being no washing machine at the property, we didn't feel comfortable in staying and were worried it might happen again. The owners however were absolutely lovely and really helpful. It just wasn't right for us.

Just come back from a half term stay with my mum and 5 year old daughter. The Stable is beautifully finished, with a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, a hot shower, and plenty of warmth for for chilly February nights! My daughter loved having the pigs right outside the front door. We were within half an hour of plenty of different activities and places to visit, but it was wonderful to be able to return to the peace and quiet of the countryside each evening.

Lovely property, great location for what we needed. One complaint is the main bedroom bed frame squeeked every time someone moved and the plastic sheets on the bed and pillows were very noisy and also made you very hot!! The other is the property was very clean other than the rugs that still had dog hair on them and the self propelled hoover deposited more hair than it picked up. As we are not a fan of animals this wasn’t the best. The rest of the property was very clean. Overall a lovely property and has lots of features not advertised, eg Bluetooth wireless speaker, DVD player, solar panel charger for devices to charge. Would recommend to others and go back again ourselves and would suggest you take slippers as the floor gets cold. Have a great time.

We enjoyed our weekend break, despite the freezing cold weather. The accommodation was excellent and so quirky! The welcome pack was so thoughtful. Our dog loved being there. There were so many places in the vicinity we wanted to visit but did not have the time. Can recommend the Royal Oak pub at Kings Bromley, dog friendly and delicious food.

Nice place, couple of things we felt could be better, the layout in the kitchen/lounge area was not ideal and the outside of the premises needs a bit of a tidy up! not major but worth mentioning. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely comfortable, cosy and clean cottage. Everything you need is there, even wood & kindling for the stove. Shopping centre is only 10 mins away. Nice scenery for walks. Would definitely recommend.

The Stables was enjoyable, we liked the location and the pigs were lovely. We had a couple of cold nights and especially in the winter the heating would not be enough to keeep warm and we wondered if the solo power would be able to cope with electric fires for extra heat. The bedrooms were warm and very comfortable.

We're just home from a wonderful week at The Stables...peace and quiet, lovely walks all around and a good pub within walking distance if you're so inclined. Fresh flowers on the table, a great shower and thick towels we're all much appreciated, thankyou Colin and Ian. We didn't want to leave... hoping to book again in the spring.

Stayed with my daughter and 2 year old granddaughter who loved the view of the pigs and piglets from the garden. Very private, no neighbours. Comfortable, clean, good shower, would visit again.
