The Timber Store is a great space set in a beautiful countryside setting and a fantastic rural retreat to explore this area of Sussex. The main living area is a grand open space with a large dining table perfect for celebratory meals or a gathering before setting out for the days’ activities. There are also sofas available in this area for relaxing after dinner. The kitchen has another large table, a perfect spot for a hearty breakfast before heading out to the countryside. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need for your break. The fabulous garden area is accessed from the living area and is a wonderful space to enjoy the surroundings and wildlife whilst trying your hand at some alfresco cooking in the BBQ pit!
The River Rother passes close to The Timber Store and offers half a mile of private fishing and along its banks you have easy access to the start of the Rother Valley Walk and a network of footpaths that criss cross the surrounding South Downs countryside. If you have a larger party then it is possible to book both House on the Brooks and Mill House on the Brooks which are close by. Hardham and beyond The Timber Store is perfectly positioned within the South Downs National Park and is therefore ideal to enjoy many excellent walks in the local area or even the immediate wetland. The wildflower meadows are stunning when in bloom and captivating when underwater in the winter. Also nearby is the West Sussex Golf Club one of three in the close area which is regularly judged one of the outstanding inland courses in Britain with a priceless oasis of heather sand heath and trees beneath the Sussex Downs. For any golf lover staying at The Timber Store is very convenient indeed.
