Tidal View is a contemporary, third floor apartment situated in an ideal location just a short distance away from the bustling heart of Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast. It provides a perfect base for couples looking to explore this beautiful coastline and also the North York Moors National Park. The communal grounds surrounding the property have some lovely areas to enjoy the stunning views over the harbour and abbey. As the position is so close to all amenities you could leave your car and explore Whitby on foot. It is a haven for walkers and cyclists, and many walks can be accessed from your doorstep including a riverside walk and a lovely coastal walk along the disused railway line between Whitby and Scarborough. Whitby has so much to offer all year round and is a very popular place to visit. There is a large selection of pubs, quaint antique and gift shops and famous fish and chip shops. The local tour bus is an excellent way of visiting some of Whitby’s highlights including the stunning abbey and St Mary’s Church, positioned on the cliff top where you can enjoy spectacular views over Whitby and out to sea. There are also many events going on all year round including Whitby’s own regatta, Folk Week, music weekends and Goth weekends which offer something to please everyone. If you would like to travel further afield you can visit many pretty coastal resorts dotted along the coast from Whitby including Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay which are all worth a day out. Shop ¼ mile, pub 300 yards, restaurant ½ mile.

Overall this was probable the best accommodation we have stayed at. Not strictly a cottage, more an apartment on level 3 of the apartment block. Only two very small niggles 1) We could only find one board to slice bread, vegetables and meat. Can I suggest the owner provide another chopping board to reduce contamination. That would then separate the bread slicing from veg and meat cutting surfaces. 2) There are a pair of tongues for turning meat etc. The existing tongues have plastic ends and presumably a previous occupant has left it on the frying pan and the plastic ends have melted. I suggest you purchase metal tongues. Both point will cost very little to resolve.

Extremely clean, well equipped, comfortable apartment. Lots of things to do in the area and lovely walks from the door. Ideal for coast and countryside. Visited Falling Foss, Boggle Hole, Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes. Had a lovely time on our second visit and were even fortunate enough to have good weather!

This was our 2nd stay in Tidal View in 2 years, couldn’t wish for more. Clean, tidy and a quiet area, would definitely recommend it.

Lovely very comfortable flat in quiet area but walking distance to centre of Whitby. (Needs a new frying pan though, and a few more mugs!)

Stayed in Tidal View on two occasions now and Tidal Retreat once. The private parking is a big bonus. Would stay in this area again at the right price. Not dog lovers so prefer the dog free apartments.

have stayed at Tidal View on several occasions and never been disappointed be it in the summer or as on this occasion December, always clean and tidy and all the furnishing are in good condition, the added bonus of a bottle of milk and a packet of biscuits plus tea and coffee was very useful as on this occasion as we did not arrive until 6 pm and allowed us to put our bags down and make a brew, "its the little things that make the difference"

We've stayed several times before as it is a very comfortable, quiet and well appointed apartment. Was a bit surprised there was no heating on when we arrived though (in November - it was chilly) and there was also no hot water the first evening despite using the immersion override. Not too sure what the problem was but the next day after the out-of-hours meter kicked in, it was back on!

The reason for the low rating on comfort was the sofa,it was too low down and uncomfortable to sit on.However the bed was very comfortable.

I loved my stay at Tidal View, the accommodation catered for every requirement, exceptionally clean and comfortable. I wasn't able to arrive for my holiday in 2017 and my adult son was able to holiday in my place and loved his stay. I would recommend highly this accommodation.

Great accommodation the only negative was the lounge seating it was a little uncomfortable but we found it was a bed settee! We visit Yorkshire almost every year in September/October and will consider returning to Tidal View.

Most holiday rentals are a disappointment. This one was not. Comfortable, well furnished, fitted and decorated. Good wifi and secure parking. This cottage has been added to a very short list of places I would be prepared to come again.
