Stunning location, just perfect, relaxing and away from it all - gorgeous property, so cosy. Lovely lady - Sally to deal with, although we didn't really need to, as we had every comfort we could need. The owls hooting at night made it for us - just amazing ! we want to come back.

Really lovely place to stay, very clean with everything you need. Sally very helpful host. Would stay again. Wood burner made the place get very toasty even during the storm.

Had a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage. The view was wonderful in a rural location. The host was great and on hand for anything that you need. The cottage was put together really well and very clean.

I am writing this review with some degree of trepidation, as I really wanted this to be the most perfect stay for the two of us, as it recommended by a colleague who had stayed here almost a year ago. The location of the cottage is quite good as the bedroom and living room both face the garden which is very plain, but at least it overlooks some fields, but there can be a lot of traffic noise (depending on which way the wind blows) as well as some aircraft that pass very close by... The inside of the property was really quite clean, with only a few cobwebs floating around in high beams BUT the outside of the cottage was "In my opinion" Dreadful! There were cobwebs as well as small to large spiders everywhere,& the windows really needed to be cleaned all over! On a final note: We had to return home early by 4 days, due to severe pain and immobility in my back and I ended up in the A&E department of my local hospital, which was totally due to the "VERY POOR QUALITY OF THE BED AND MATRESS"! Which was of such a poor quality, as it offered no support!!! I believe it should be replaced immediately and certainly before somebody else ends up in the same situation! Even a week on I am still in pain and recovering... I "Challenge" the owners to spend a couple of nights just sleeping on that bed... I certainly would not recommend this cottage to anyone for the above reason.

Beautiful place - you feel a million miles away from everything - run by a lovely couple. You have everything you could need plus more!

The cottage is in a peaceful location in the Colne Valley. it is easy to get to a wide variety of places, including Constable Country and Maldon. Heybridge Basin gives access to the Chelmer and Blackwater canal, and there are two pubs and an excellent tearoom.

I really don't like leaving 10/10 feedback but this amazing retreat deserves nothing less. Sally, the host; showed us which was what and where, sent us a text in the evening to ask if all was ok and did we need anything, which we didn't, and didn't see her until the end of our holiday. Everything is modern, clean and fresh. Everything we needed, and some we didn't, was provided. Awsome welcome pack. Mini toiletries. Towels for the sun loungers. Hot tub for 4 even though there is only 2 of us. The view, beautiful nature. I could go on for ever, it's a marvelous accommodation. There is no wifi, so if you're one of the sad people who have no life, then this is not for you. As for us, it was brilliant without wifi !!!!!!!

We had a great holiday, and have already booked the same cottage for a week in August.

A lovely little purpose-built building within the grounds of the owners property but secluded and private feeling. It's clean, tidy and well-equipped. We were very fortunate to stay over the warm & sunny Easter weekend this year, and the hot tub got plenty of use! The property would benefit from a shaded area outside as it's a real sun-trap on hot days. Overall a very good place to stay and we would happily use again.

We had a very relaxing week at this cottage. The wood burner is lovely for chilly evenings. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby and beautiful scenery to walk in. Highly recommended.
