What a lovely home from home Tomfield's is. Perfect place to meet up with family and use as a base to explore but also so nice to come back to and relax. Met by Johnathan when we got there and shown around. Nice little treats on arrival - scones, biscuits and wine. Games room was great for the children to have their own space. Would definately stay here again ☺

We had a great week at Tomfield Cottage. The welcome (Jonathan waiting at the end of the drive and scones, biscuits & wine in the fridge) and cleanliness of the property were great and we loved the games room. Tomfield Cottage is ideally placed for so many attractions - we enjoyed the Monkey Forest at Trentham, Waterworks, the Manifold Way on bikes and the Victorian Town at Ironbridge. We had a delicious Indian meal at Blue Tiffin in Meir too. Would highly recommend Tomfield Cottage.

We had a lovely 4 day stay at this cottage, the owner could have not been more helpful. On our arrival we were left a bottle of wine, buttered scones ,tea and coffee. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable, the photos do not do it justice everything was perfect.I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. On leaving the owner gave us some freshly cut lavender from her own garden, this said it all to us lovely cottage lovely people. Thank you see you again soon.

On arrival we were surprised that previous reviews had described the cottage as spacious. As a group of 5, we found that the awkward size / shape / layout of the seating area made it difficult to all watch TV together in the evening. Whilst it's nice to have an extra sofa away from the TV for those wanting to read, the seating near the TV only had 2x two-seater sofas and 2x dentist waiting room- The seating area is also the through-route between the kitchen, bathroom, pool room and staircase, so it felt a bit like a corridor at times. I think the cottage would be most suited to a group that wants to spend evening sitting around the large kitchen table, or perhaps two couples who want to go out early hill walking and spend evenings in the pub. Positives: clean; plenty of hot water and the shower was good; corner room bed was comfortable; pool table was great; the north-east facing garden has views over countryside; the wifi was fine; there are a 2/3 really good National Trust properties in the wider area but driving there takes quite a while. There's a steam railway close by. Negatives: the property is right next the A52 so there is 50mph traffic noise from 6am; bathroom radiator is too small for the room which is cold; condensation problems causing puddles in the bathroom and kitchen; bathroom and kitchen floors are freezing, bring your slippers; cooking was challenging at times due to poor quality pans, but the oven was good. Overall, we thought the property was quite expensive for what we got, compared to others we have stayed in, especially as it isn't in the most popular location.
