Set in the hamlet of Starbotton in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this Grade II listed, end of terrace cottage dates back to 1663. As such, it has been sympathetically refurbished and makes a quiet retreat from busy everyday life. It enjoys a south-facing spacious garden with the added benefit of soft fruit beds from which guests are welcome to help themselves in season. To make your stay as comfortable as possible dressing gowns and hairdryers are provided, and for entertainment there are a number of board games and garden games to try out. The cottage is ideally placed for walking, cycling or touring the whole of the Yorkshire Dales. The nearby town of Grassington is 9 miles and in summer plays host to an incredible arts festival where you will find famous singers, presenters, poets and musicians. In winter there is a Dickensian festival, a magical event where the town is transported back in time with shopkeepers, villagers and visitors dressing in Victorian costume. A little further afield lies the bustling market town of Skipton with its Norman castle standing proudly at the head of it wide, sweeping, cobbled high street. Alternatively kick back in the local pub, 200 yards, which serves food and local ales. The nearby village of Kettlewell, approximately 2 miles away boasts three pubs, tea rooms, a village shop and various events during year including The Scarecrow Festival. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

A lovely cottage in a pretty little village. Very well equipped and well looked after by the owners. Very cosy and warm. It was nice to sit in a lovely garden and all have a chat and a cuppa together. A generous welcome pack was very much appeciated also a doggie box as well. We hope to return to this cottage, as we had an enjoyable week.

Really comfortable, peaceful cottage. If you are looking for a wild time this is not for you, but if you want peace and quiet in comfort and style, it is for you. Great local pub, walks from the door. The owners have put great thought into to the cottage with lots of little extras including bath robes, a hairdryer, a Tassimo machine, all the bathroom products you need and a welcome pack for humans and dogs!

Wellside cottage is a beautiful cozy, comfortable and well equipped home from home. There was even a personalised welcome basket for our dog. Tracy and William, the owners, cannot do enough for you. They are always on hand if you need them, but are not at all intrusive. The location is perfect for walkers as there are lots of good walks from the village. The village pub is warm and welcoming with amazing food. We had a lovely week there and will definitely return.

Lovely cottage and everything is of a high standard. Beds new and comfy, towels and linen high quality. The garden and location are great, especially with dog and kids (!) can get straight out and onto Dale path network that passes the door. The welcome pack was very appreciated and generous (wine and groceries) and even a hamper of toys and some treats for the dog. There are no shops in Starbotton but Tesco do deliver so I would recommend doing that as this is what we did. Local pub OK and Kettlewell is only a mile or so away and has another couple of pubs which are also good. Couldn't fault the cottage, lovely thoughtful owners stay just next door so no worries if you need help. Would gladly stay again, one of the nicest cottages we have ever rented (and we've been doing that annually for 20 years)

Wellside Cottage is a very comfortable and welcoming holiday home. It was extremely clean and had lots of welcoming touches throughout. The location was wonderful, very peaceful. The furniture was all comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The welcome hampers were much appreciated and our doggy had the best holiday ever. The garden was beautiful and large and will be lovely in warmer weather. Many thanks to the owners, we would definitely recommend.

Our holiday in Wellside Cottage was one of the most peaceful and relaxing holidays we've had in some time. The cottage is well equipped with everything you'd expect and a few nice extras too like the welcome basket and coffee machine. It's set back off the main road through Starbotton and is blissfully quiet. We had the odd farm vehicle pass by (only during the day) and a few walkers pass by but other than that all we saw and heard was the birds in the garden. There are lovely window seats in every room where you can sit and watch the birds on the feeder. The weather was brilliant during our stay so we often sat out on the bench in the garden too. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and the beds were comfy and warm. There are also towelling robes provided and good hairdryers too which were both an added bonus. The village itself is small and quiet. The local pub is just a minutes walk away and was very welcoming and the food was great. There's also a pizza place just around the corner (not open all the time). Our hosts were very friendly and were only 2 doors away if we needed anything. We would highly recommend this cottage and are thinking of going back at some point for a long weekend as it was so peaceful and relaxing.

Tracy and her husband could not have been nicer. We had such a lovely stay and the house is so well equipped. They also put lots of lovely extra touches in for Christmas which was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend anyone to go there.
