The area offers fell walking sailing and riding at Coniston the Ravenglass Eskdale Railway and an exhilarating drive over Hardknott Pass to visit the Roman Fort and much more. Families will enjoy the sand and shingle beach at Silecroft 8 miles.     Just could do with a few more mugs and plates etc. so you don't have to keep washing them up. But this wasn't really a great hassle - everything was lovely, and our host very welcoming.

    An outstanding cottage and location. Very cosy and peaceful with good walks from the door. Phil & Eddie made us very welcome with fresh flowers and a pot of tea and biscuits on our arrival.

    Lovely cosy cottage, very peaceful location. Good base for walks and convenient for Scafell Pike. Great welcoming by the owners, tea and flowers.

    Were greeted with a fresh pot of tea and biscuits which was welcome after our journey. Has everything you need but make sure you bring groceries with you as there are no shops in village for useful supplies. Beautiful and quiet. Would visit again.
