This is a very clean, pretty and well equipped little cottage. The view from the excellent terrace is great and in many ways it's a very good property but it didn't work for us. Though only 2 people and a dog, downstairs was very cramped - I cannot imagine 4 people sharing. If it's raining you couldn't get 4 people round the dining table. My husband repeatedly hit his head on the low door lintels - his fault but it is a problem because most people are much taller than they were in the sixteenth century... Its something to bear in mind if a member of your party is over 5ft 8 or so. Parking is truly terrible - the people leaving before us left their car parked for the entire stay as they couldn't be sure of finding a space nearby. We were fairly lucky but still had to walk a good distance to park. I know these are reasonable issues for an old cottage in a crowded town but they do need to be taken into account when booking. Having said that we did enjoy evenings on the terrace and there were lots of little touches - tea, coffee etc and cleaning materials which we did appreciate.

This is a very pleasant cottage in a fantastic location to explore Whitby. However I would not recommend it for anyone with mobility problems as access is via steps. The cottage is very well equipped and cosy, although I would say it is starting to look a little tired. The main bedroom only has a double bed which was a bit snug for us ( I appreciate it was advertised as having a double bed) The heating does not come on until 7.30am and I would suggest it had not been on for sometime as the first morning was freezing. However the following days weren’t so bad as we had the heating on all day The shower is lovely and powerful. All in all a very nice cottage.

Our second visit to this lovely cottage. Nice and cosy with a lovely open fire. We love the views from the back garden. Beds were comfortable and we all slept well. Children loved their bedroom. Finding a parking spot was the biggest challenge. We will go again.

It was a beautiful cottage with all the period finishing touches, the only bad things are the cottage is very high up, which is fine if you are a fit young couple which my husband is not. It is lovely decorated there is also limited parking. And because of this we didn't want to loose our parking place so we had to take a taxi everywhere

Cottage is stunning with views across the harbour. The main negative is the parking, I had to park a good 5 minute walk away (which is alot when bringing in suitcases etc). Absolute pot luck as to whether you get a space anywhere near the property. Pictures also lead me to believe that there was a small garden along side the cottage but the garden didn't belong to number 4 where we stayed. Felt a little mislead as the garden swung the booking for me as I have children. But those things aside white cottage is a beautiful place with wifi, choice of entertainment and beautiful views.
