You’ll be in an ideal spot for exploring, just 2 miles away is Newborough Forest within easy walking distance, one of the most important red squirrel conservation sites in the United Kingdom. The forest backs onto a beautiful beach, you can walk from here onto Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn), a magical place located at the far end of the beach near Newborough Warren. In the village itself there is a convenience shop, a café and art gallery, a fish and chip shop, the local pub, Anglesey Model Village & Café, a hotdog van, a pizza van, and even a transport museum. Further afield, Beaumaris is just under 30 minutes’ drive where you’ll find a magnificent, moated castle, many eateries, and quaint independent shops to peruse, a lovely scenic spot to spend some time.
This special island of Anglesey has 125 miles of coastline to explore, and you’ll be spoilt for choice along the way for which beaches and famous sites to visit. There are miles of coastal paths to explore where you can take in the magnificent scenery whilst spotting the local wildlife. You are just a short drive away from all the island’s famous sites. You can take a boat trip at certain times of the year to visit Puffin Island! The Rib Ride boats also run from various locations across the island for most of the year and offer a fascinating insight into the history and the local wildlife. There is something for everyone of all ages to enjoy in this diverse region no matter your interests.
