On the positive side the property is ideal if you are taking dogs. All the seating is leather or imitation leather, and all the floors are hardwood or tiled, easy to keep clean. On the negative side I don't think you could describe the property as a cottage, it is very big on 3 levels, ideal for a large family but not very cosy for 2. The kitchen layout is poor, the fridge is located well away from the tea/coffee making area and you have to circumnavigate the kitchen to get to the milk. The biggest problem though was access. You have to reverse up a steep drive, virtually blind, and risk not reversing into a wall or the road.

Great Cottage, there were 8 of us, we all fitted in comfortably, kitchen is well stocked, brand new shower gel left in the shower for use, plenty of towels, we would go again. It is a town house therefore a lot of stairs to climb.

We loved it but found the proximity of the road and the noise from it at night intruding.

Wood Cottage is a very spacious, comfortable and well equipped cottage. As a party of 5 adults with three dogs we appreciated areas for us all to be together, quiet areas for reading or relaxing and another area for t.v. The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed pleasant and easy walks along the canal and also more strenuous walks in the High Peak. We all enjoyed our stay at Wood Cottage and would visit another time.

Overall we were really pleased, except my husband and son banged there head on there way up the stairs. And we feel the property would benefit an another shower.

We enjoyed our week at this location - despite the water flooding through some windows in a monsoon! This clearly was not the first time this had happened. The location was good but the place lacked some TLC. Parts of it were good but others were very basic which didn't really match up with the price tag or the description.

We had a brilliant long weekend at Wood Cottage. The house is spacious and very well equipped. Our only criticism was the lack of shower in the en-suite. We would definitely recommend this cottage to family groups such as ours. A great stay - Thank you.

Lovely cottage in a lovely place. Only negative is the low ceiling on first set of stairs. I spent 4 hours in Stockport A&E due to cracking my head open on it. It wasnt too bad, it was just glued together, but it was annoying. Defo want to go back again!!! (To the cottage, not A&E)

It is a very spacious minimalistic house. All the beds are comfortable it was very clean. The bath in the main bedroom is amazing. It does become a bit tedious the kitchen being on a different level to the living room. Tne dinning room space is a good size with a television and lounging chairs. The pub is lovely and welcoming with a nice country walk if you cut through along the canal path. We were disapointed how it was decorated up for Christmas.
