The views over the estuary are ever-changing views are breathtaking, so whether you wake in the morning to the hustle and bustle of the busy woods and its inhabitants or relax in the wood-fired hot tub enjoying dark sky (no light pollution here), the stresses and strains of modern life will simply ebb away.
Self-sufficient travellers will do well here, but the Lakeland market town of Broughton-in-Furness is a just a 10-minute drive. It’s also a half-hour walk from Green Road railway station, if you want to dispense with the car for your trip.
South Lakes Wild Animal Park is 6 miles, Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway 10¼ miles, Lakeland Motor Museum 11 miles, Holker Hall and Gardens 11¾ miles. If you fancy a lake cruise, Windermere Lake Cruises are 12½ miles, whilst other places of interest include Dalton Castle 6½ miles and Cartmel Priory Gatehouse 12¾ miles. Beautiful Coniston, Tarn Hows and Fell Foot Park are 12¾ miles, and if you enjoy cycling, there are over 12,000 miles of cycling routes. Muncaster Castle, Ulverston Sands and the Swinside Stone Circle are also nearby and public transport can take you to farmers markets and shops.
