stayed at woodlands for two nights. highly recommend this cottage, arrived to a home made carrot cake and a bottle of milk in the fridge. it is a home from home with everything you need. clean and tidy and Angela and Simon made us very welcome. Bungle loved the enclosed 2 acres of land. Personally i enjoyed watching the birds through binoculars which were supplied especially a red topped woodpecker. We would have no hesitation in booking a further visit in the future.

Woodlands is a beautiful place , more a home than a holiday home . The place is so tranquil and the owners make you feel part of their family . The gardens are fabulous and encourages the wildlife . Our little dog had a hay day exploring all the grounds . We recommend anybody to experience this place.

Lovely house. Lovely owners. Lovely welcome. If we are ever staying that way again we would look no further. The narrow lanes take some getting used to, however we had no problems. A variety of places in all directions can be visited from the location. Altogether a very good holiday.

A fantastic week in a glorious cottage. Everything about it was superb - couldn't fault anything. Our hosts Angela & Simon were very friendly & helpful.

The Woodlands annexe was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The house is surrounded by a lovely garden which attracts an abundance of wild birds and wildlife. It is situated in a quiet country road but has easy access into Newent and other main routes. Simon and Angela are excellent hosts and we had a nice tea tray laid out for our arrival with a lovely home made cake which we understand from Angela, she makes for all new arrivals. We thoroughly recommend the freshly laid eggs from Angela's hens. They are the best we have ever tasted!

This was our second stay at Woodlands and once again we had a great stay. Angela and Simon make you feel very welcome and Angela's lovely home made cake is a big plus point. The house is very comfortable and homely, it feels like a home away from home not stark like some holiday lets. The garden is amazing and we were lucky enough to have a couple of day with weather nice enough to sit outside and watch all the birds on the feeders. Our dog enjoyed strolling round the garden and being fussed by Angela. The location is a short drive from the beautiful Forest of Dean and Wye Valley and within easy reach of Hereford, Cheltenham & Gloucester. Wifi can be patchy and we struggled to get a phone signal but this didn't bother us and it was nice to not be a slave to technology for the week. All in all we would highly recommend Woodlands to anybody.
