Absolutely loved our stay at Woodside Cottage. Sharon and Tony are great hosts. The cottage was immaculate and very well stocked with everything you need from washing up liquid to gravy granules. There was fresh eggs every day from the owners chickens and to sit and eat breakfast whilst looking up at a mountain is just breath taking. We even had a chance to feed the owners owls which was an amazing experience. We have already booked for next year! If you want peace and relaxation this is your place. There’s no WiFi or phone signal so you really can switch off.

What a fantastic cottage and amazing hosts. After years of going to Holiday Parks we decided to rent a cottage this year after an awful experience last year at a Holiday Park. This was so worth the extra cost. There was an unexpected welcome pack on the table which was lovely, Tony and Sharon are wonderful and do all they can to help. Our children loved meeting all the animals and watching the wildlife in the garden, we saw deer, buzzards and rabbits amongst other wildlife. It was lovely seeing the chickens run freely (true free range) we collected eggs most mornings for our breakfast. It was amazing re-connecting with the family and getting to know our 16 year old son again! He is always on his PS4 but due to no internet or phone signal he spent time with us and his twin sisters, it was lovely seeing them all getting on and playing games which were all supplied at the cottage, along with DVD's which were a godsend as the weather during our stay was not very good, so some days were spent at the cottage in the living room with the log fire providing a cosy setting. We did manage to climb up Ben Rinnes 2 days which was wonderful, the views were amazing and a great sense of achievement making it to the top, although the first day we went up, there was cloud coverage at the top. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could think of. Thank you so much Tony and Sharon.

The owners met us as we arrived and set the tone for our visit in the best possible way. They were so friendly and helpful. They showed us the cottage, explained how things worked, suggested possible places to eat and to visit. They told us to contact them with any further queries we might have. They checked in with us after a couple of days to make sure everything was OK. And on one particularly rainy day Sharon brought us a selection of their own DVD's as it was just too awful to go out. I cannot praise this holiday venue enough. Every room had been carefully planned and equipped. There were lots of touches reflecting the Scottish theme in fabrics and pictures. There was a welcome basket for us and milk in the fridge. Extra things like cooking oil, spices etc were in the kitchen. Plus eggs from our host's own free-range chickens which were delicious. We could collect more eggs as we needed to. The water supply was from a spring and so nice both for drinking and washing in. The bedrooms were so pretty, had great views out over the grass, trees and mountains. The beds were very comfortable. All the 3 bedrooms had been made up so we had a choice of which to use. My daughter and I picked the 2 upstairs bedrooms. There were plenty of towels available. The beds each had a note on the towel bundle to leave unused beds and towels as they were, so they could minimise unnecessary laundry and be "green". The central heating was by biomass, which we were a little ignorant about but it was a very efficient system with little environmental impact. There was a wood-burner available in the sitting room but even though our week in Scotland was cold and very wet we did not need to use it as the central heating was great. The sitting room was large, welcoming and comfortable. There were extra rugs to wrap up in, comfy armchairs and a lovely large couch. There were lots of board games, books and DVDs provided, and Sky TV. Outside the window was a well-stocked bird-feeding station which was a joy to watch, with plenty of visiting siskins, coal tits, blue tits, great tits, sparrows and more. There were plenty of pheasants and their chicks about too. This cottage was quite isolated and well away from normal busy city life. It was so relaxing and tranquil. Everything was so lovely and we would love to stay here again.

Wonderful cottage with stunning surroundings. Areas to walk with your dogs such an added bonus for early morning and evening walks. Plenty of wildlife visits in garden, Deer and hares and all of Sharon & Tony's lovely animals. Great base for going off exploring all day and knowing you were coming back to the cottage was such a perfect holiday for us all. Owners Sharon & Tony are wonderful, so friendly and gave us lots of ideas where to go walking with our dogs. This is by far the best cottage/environment we have ever stayed in and for the first time ever we didn't want to leave!!

We were made to feel very welcome by Sharon and Tony, they have thought of everything that you would require at the cottage. It is very comfortable, especially the beds, and with the heating and woodburner, was as warm as we needed. The grounds are available for you to walk through, and there is a fully fenced area to excercise dogs, as well as the fenced garden at the cottage. Plenty of wildlife can be seen from the cottage, deer, hares and rabbits were daily visitors. The hens were very obliging in providing us with fresh eggs. There is plenty do do in the local area, or you could just relax and watch the world go by through the windows. Although the cottage feels remote, it is only a few minutes drive to local facilities and shops, so ideally situated.
