Please note There are 3 steps to the raised terrace with handrail.\n\n Y Bwthyn The Cottage is a lovely traditional Welsh stone cottage situated within the village of Talgarreg just 15 minutes’ drive from the stunning Cardigan Bay coastline. On the outside of this semi-detached cottage a plaque commemorates the fact that renowned Welsh preacher and poet Dewi Emrys once lived here. Dewi Emrys won the very coveted National Eisteddfod ’Chair’ no less than four times for his work. The property is a Visit Wales 4 graded property graded November 2019.\nThe current owners of the cottage have worked tirelessly to create a delightful holiday home which has been thoughtfully finished to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone who stays here. The interior is extremely cosy with original features such as exposed stonework and beams and you will be warm and cosy as you relax by the multi-fuel burner. The modern and bright kitchendining room is very well-equipped and includes a dishwasher and a coffee pod machine. Upstairs there are two characterful bedrooms a double and a twin room each with a TV. The lovely enclosed garden looks out onto fields beyond and the raised patio is the ideal spot to enjoy the views with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Although with the welcoming village pub right opposite you will probably want to spend some time there too\nIf you can drag yourself away from Y Bwthyn you must explore the surrounding area. The pretty seaside town of New Quay with its houses clinging to the rocks is charming. There are a selection of little shops cafés pubs and restaurants and also the Marine Wildlife Centre. You can take a boat trip to spot dolphins and seals and from the sea you can really get a sense of how beautiful this coastline is. If sailing isn’t for you why not just sit by the harbour with fish and chips or an ice cream and enjoy watching the boats bobbing about? There are plenty of lovely sandy beaches to explore in the area New Quay has no less than four and many are dog friendly all year round if you are bringing your family dog on holiday with you. Nearby lovely Llangrannog and Tresaith have pubs and restaurants overlooking the beach so whatever the weather you can enjoy a meal and soak up the views.\nThe county town of Cardigan and the university town of Aberystwyth are definitely worth a visit both with castles and the latter with a pier promenade and electric cliff railway. Make sure you visit the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron too. West Wales is a haven for walkers cyclists and those who enjoy any kind of outdoor pursuit. The local Parkrun is just a short drive away at the National Trust owned Llanerchaeron as is the internationally known Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Centre and the West Wales Karting Centre. If you are after serious mountain biking you can take to the muddy tracks at Nant-yr-Arian Aberystwyth or the Brechfa Forest. Come and stay at Y Bwthyn and be sure of a ’Croeso Cynnes’ or a warm Welsh welcome you won’t be disappointed. Beach 7 miles. Shop 4½ miles pub serving food 10 yards. A beautiful cottage, really well equipped in a lovely location. The owners go out of their way to ensure you have a relaxing stay. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Outstanding!

Absolutely beautiful cottage! We book these days away every year to spend time together and recharge from our hectic lives ( we also like to give our very energetic dog the chance to burn off some steam with the extra long walks ).Gwen & Tony couldn't of been more accommodating! They should be so proud of the work they have done to get the cottage looking and feeling how it does! They have thought of every little detail. Providing tea, coffee, sugar, milk and butter was so thoughtful and an extra bonus! The welcome hamper was adorable and we couldn't move our puppy away from the log fire all week! We will 100% be back again! Easily the best cottage we have stayed in yet!

An excellent and well presented cottage. Very good reception hamper with a stock of logs and coals. Having a pub opposite is a bonus. Peter & Heather

I cannot speak highly enough for the owners and the property. If you want a quiet getaway with a stunning well finished cottage then look no further. If you want fancy restaurants and bars then its not for you. The local pub was great a traditional old Welsh pub the landlord and lady were very welcoming and locals full of helpful advise on where to go and what to do. On the property the refurb has been completed to an excellent standard and you couldnt ask for more. Fire set for arrival with a lovely welcome basket was an added bonus and lovely touch

Wonderful location and more than wonderful cottage. Everything you could want and more was in the cottage, Garden was great sitting out drinking coffee in the Morning watching the livestock in the Field at the rear of the cottage. With a good pub across the road which had excellent Welsh fare on the menu. Cottage location was very quiet and peaceful. Also very convenient for getting around the Mid Wales area.We loved every day there........................
