Excellent apart from the fact that the Wi-Fi was very iffy. However we got over this by picking it up when we were out and about. The owners who live opposite were very friendly and helpful; it was a lovely week in a great part of the country

We had a lovely break at Yew Tree Cottage, and the owners Nigel and Tessa gave us a very warm welcome. We arrived to find a scrumptious cake and bottle of wine, and the gesture was much appreciated. We had our dog with us, so to find a lane running alongside the property and leading to open farmland was a real bonus as we could go for a walk straight from the property. We met a couple of local residents whilst walking there, and all were very friendly and paused for a chat. Cheriton itself is a very pretty village and has a shop for essentials - certainly handy. We would definitely recommend The Hinton Arms for a meal, we took my 85 year old Aunt there for lunch which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The pub is very dog friendly, the staff were delightful and the food was really good, what more could you want. We spent most of our time visiting family and friends in the area, and the cottage was a lovely base, perfectly situated for our needs. We could also recommend a visit to Danebury hill fort just outside Stockbridge, very interesting, wonderful walks especially if you have a dog, and the most amazing views - really well worth a visit. We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather for the entire trip, which really was the icing on the cake, and we hope to return at some point.

A nice cottage and lovely hosts. Although dogs are allowed you must be aware there is no garden. If your dogs love other dogs you'll be OK with the frequent visits from the gorgeous two resident dogs. The kitchen is very basic - be aware that the microwave/grill/oven is at floor level so if you have any back or knee issues you will struggle to cook safely. We did enjoy our stay though and the power shower was 10/10!!

Lovely comfortable barn, loads to see and do within 20 miles. Many small steams with very clear running water and trout swimming all around the area, Hinton Arms Pub/Restaurant within walking distance which serves brilliant food with very large portions. A number of National Trust and English Heritage properties close, plus Watercress line for steam enthusiasts . Aylesford within a few minutes drive for main facilities, Winchester City 7 miles and local post office/shop in village itself which had a surprising amount of stock. Owners also lovely and helpful which two beautiful terriers who were very friendly. Hampshire well worth a visit if you have not been.

The owners are very welcoming and the property very comfortable and spacious On the downside I was very disappointed that there was no pleasant outside space to enjoy, merely a bench on a large expanse of tarmac. As this is a dog-friendly property, this seemed quite inadequate for my dog as well as for me!

Really lovely cottage , friendly hosts . Only negative is no garden , have to sit on bench in owners large driveway , so not really suitable for a holiday home listed as dog friendly .

Fantastic host. Walks from the door. Desirable village well located for winchester. Market towns. New forest and the beach. No traffic noise. No footpath through the village but very polite drivers giving you and your dog a wide berth.

Lovely cottage, exactly as described. Owners were away during our stay, but house sitters very welcoming. Location ideal for our break, visiting the Watercress Steam heritage line and Winchester.
