We have got everything we could wish to have in a house, it was very clean and private. Moreover, we received a very helpful and complete info pack of places not to miss out. At the end of the day, we were just looking forward to come back to our lodge. However, it has one single fault: it is so far from our home, but worths spending 7 hours in traffic! We are already planning our next holiday and definitely will be back. And this time, will have a bath tub, too. :)

Armchairs in the lodge a bit too deep for comfort and only one bedside table by the double bed otherwise we couldn't wait to go again.

We found the lodge very modern and spacious, it had everything we needed. It was very clean, except for the carpet in the lounge which was stained.

Unfortunately, out of all the places we have stayed this was the worst due to the cleanliness. The carpet had some terrible stains on it where simply it had not been cleaned well enough after pet accidents. Dust was everywhere in the corners and under furniture. Both bathrooms had a terrible smell originating from the drains, they smelt if the door was left for a while like a dog urine etc... The furniture had a few issues and was just all looking a little dated and worn. The bedroom design was very tight for the lodge we stayed in which was a shame, only one side had a bedside table and frankly, it was uncomfortable to be so cramped. Out of all the trips to luxury lodges etc... this was our worst experience by far. The family voted and to be honest all votes were 3 or 4 out of 10. Outside our lodge at 14 the staff would meet for cleaning and change over, and they would be loud from 7AM onwards, you could not rest in the morning in comfort as they were looking over into the lodge, and shouting. We experienced a couple change overs and it seems to be a case of no regard for the actual guests who were still staying. Cobwebs and spiders through the lodge, really tried hard for future guests to remove as many as possible. The decking was covered in webs that had clearly been there sometime (i.e. all season). Simple finishing touches were missing to make a special retreat important. This was an important break for us, our son had been in Great Ormond Street a lot over the year and was on chemotherapy and we had a truly non-relaxing experience that truly upset us all. We expected the high standards of other lodges but did not receive them.

Mulligan Cove is an ideal base for exploring Cornwall. The lodge was spotlessly clean, with new bedding & towels. We visited the Minack Theatre, St. Michaels Mount, the Lizard and Lands End, all amazing, then returned to relax at Mulloion Cove.
